    I ache so much today!

We spent nearly all of yesterday in the garden working.
We went to B&Q at 9.15 yesterday morning, came back had a cuppa and then cracked on with sorting out the bottom of the garden and putting into place some of that gravel we got off our friends.
DH put together a little retaining wall from small picket fencing and concreted that in whilst I de-weeded the area, then we raked over the earth, put down the weed suppressant and topped it with wheelbarrow loads of gravel. Also painted the new fence and part of one of the old ones, cut back lots of over grown plants and then went inside to cook a lazy tea of pizza, garlic bread and curly fries!
Still a fair bit to do but it looks so much better.:T

Apart from that all I've done is washing and thrown the hoover around a couple of times so inside is a disaster in most rooms. Will definitely need to get back on track tomorrow.
DH is going to visit his parents today on his own as they are both poorly so I'm taking DS and me to the park after we've taken him to the station where we'll have a picnic lunch with my mum.

Enjoy the day whatever you're up to.
...it is not of more importance than daily life, which I have an enduring wish to make as useful and beautiful as possible.

  • Right - a new day.
When the house is looking shiny and sparkly and organised, my mind is shiny and sparkly and organised - that makes me a happy fun Mum (most of the time!), a loving and caring wife (most of the time!), and a good friend (more than most of the time, I hope).
So - I've got a pretty pink beautifully ironed shirt on, am about to dry my hair and put some tinted moisturiser and lipgloss on, and will go to the supermarket with my boys and have a spring in my step. We will STICK TO THE LIST, come home and pack a picnic - go and see DH in the Sheep Shed and have lunch. Then we will come home, DH will have some special time with his boys and I will spring clean our bedroom and bathroom - then Monday I can start afresh and have the following priorities above all dailies
    1. Take the pills
    2. Dress myself well (that has slipped, also...)
    3. Have 5 minutes to decide what is acheivable on the list and add any other must-dos.
    4. The minute I see anything that makes me think 'I must do...' to write a note in the special notebook and make sure it is done before I go to bed.

    Morning everyone

Looks like it's going to be another lovely day here. We are about to get ready to go to Asda and Matalan and possibly go on to Parkgate to look for outfits and a guest book for Wednesday. I really don't want to go to Meadowhell if I can avoid it.

Hope you all have a productive day

    Morning all.

Tinselfairy your garden sounds fab and if the weather holds at least you can admire it.

Happyathome you sound so much brighter, enjoy your day

Michelle you are doing great to notice and ulcer and the change in mood, I was hopeless at telling what was wrong with my first, bit better with the others.

Feel more like getting on top of things to day. We did lots in the back garden yesterday, and hope OH will do hedge and grass at front today and take it all to the dump.

Boys all dispatched to cricket so an hours peace.

I have stripped all bed and put away the mountain of laundry from yesterday.

    Next:
    Washing online
Have shower - scrub streaky fake tan off legs
    Our bedroom
    - tidy
    - hoover
    - clean windows
    - dust

    Next 3 kids rooms EEEEEEEEk

Question for somebody re beds - when you do the hoover beds do you do it under the mattress protectors or on top?

I'd like to ask if you all change every bed each week but am guessing only those who do will answer.

Have a good day ladies, I promise not to be back until after lunch!

  • I say Flylady Family because it sounds like you are all just like a big family supporting one another.

I remember seeing Flylady's thread when it first started and I tried to get to grips with it but due to illness and other things I kind of dwindled away and forgot about the thread. Part of my illness being the loss of short term memory.

I am really glad I have found this again and am going to put a post it note on the side of my monitor to remind me to check in and have a read every morning. I don't sleep much and am up in the wee hours of the morning. Gets a bit lonely at times.

Hope it's okay to join in!

Of course you're welcome to join us Katherine

With beds Dusty, I have 2 mattress toppers I can wash so they come off and I do the mattress, one that can't, usually vacuum this then under it every few weeks too. I change the bedding weekly usually, more so in Summer, then of course the 'accident' washes.

Well decided to make more mess, muffins now in the oven, still need to do something with the yoghurt.
One day I might be more organised...........
    GC: £200
Slinkies target 2018 - another 70lb off (half way to what the NHS says) so far 25lb
  • Dusty - I try really hard to change the beds every week - but sometimes the boys go 2 weeks if I'm having a 'bad' friday - if I don't manage ours then i feel really really foul - white cotton bedlinen with a farm-labourer DH does not make for crisp clean sheets for long! Not including the mud-carrying dog and cat, of course....

  • Got so much to do and sort so have been sat here wondering where to start. My head is spinning now. Everytime I think I know how to tackle everything I panic and think I should be doing something else which is just as important. List of jobs is so long I don't know where to start.

I think I will give myself one job to do today. As the weather seems to be nice again I will attempt to sort out my wardrobe and all the baskets of cleaning washing dumped in my bedroom. Always end up wearing the same stuff for work and it is still winter wear. Will be doing a lot of throwing out as I have put 2 stone on since my illness. Well ebay and the charity shops will be doing okay soon. Only got to get one of my sons to show me how to ebay now.

Cup of tea first and then get cracking. See ya later. ;)

It doesn't matter if you have a huge long list of jobs as long as you don't pressure yourself to do them all at once. Just seeing a job crossed off makes you feel better and if you only cross off one a day, that's still one you might not have done before.

    Anyway, morning all!

S & Sd the bathroom and kitchen, then vacuumed living room, hallway and kitchen.

Washing on the line, but the weather looks a bit iffy. It's humid but cloudy.

Just started roast dinner. Everyone else is out but they will be back for dinner!

My dog is 12 today and she's still wearing her t-shirt......she managed to half get it off in the garden late last night and peed on it so she had a clean one on about midnight. Monkey.
