Well second load of baking in, chocolate yoghurt cake, fingers crossed it turns out ok

Have ended up doing much more laundry, got cake mix all over the washing basket :o so that's in with some white sheets, making most of nice weather and washing both dog beds. Best go wash up all the things I have used, times like this I would love a dishwasher!
One day I might be more organised...........

  • I have managed to empty 4 baskets of clean clothes, fill 2 bags with rubbish and stuff for charity. Hoovered matresses and under beds, stripped bedding and just finished 1 load, next one ready to go in.

Just having a quick bacon butty and cuppa before start again. DH and I had arranged to go to picture this afternoon to see new Pirates of Carib (apparently about 3-4 hours long so not sure about that will probably fall asleep) but would rather stay here now and finish sorting out, got the bug I think.

Found clothes for summer I forgot I had, will they fit??

    Well back to the grind.

Katherine I think you've well worked enough for a break to go and see a film, well done :) 3 hours I think I was told, only reason I've not taken the kids to see it, Spiderman 3 was same length!

Have a good sleep in the cinema Katherine and then you can come back and do some more work!

I don't know if I want to see the new Pirates film. I really enjoyed the first one, I thought the second one was a pile of *** so I'm a bit wary.

Dinner eaten and all washed up and cleared away.

Most of the washing is dry, looking grey out there now so I will take the paper outside to have a read and keep an eye on the weather.

Crikey, I'm shattered and I've only managed to cross 3 things off my list. Have been shopping though. The bathroom is on hold today as he's got man flu and it'll take 2 of us to lay the floor !!

Earlier I had 3 strawberries off the strawberry plant. They were so yummy !! I think they tasted even better as I'd been the one that grew them.

Right back to doing something useful

  • ooooh - ick, ick, ick..... I'm SO glad that this is the almost last few minutes of this thread (lil-me: please start a new one as soon as you possibly can!) - I've just been really really virtuous and thorough and turned my mattress (DH is home - hurrah! and has taken the boys out - double hurrah!) and it has little spongy white blobs all over the underside... what is it? Does anyone know? Can there be anyone out there as slutty as me - or maybe you had a 'friend' who told you that she had it and how she got rid of it?
I'm going to try vaccuuming followed by a wipe with white vinegar.
I will understand after reading this if I am asked to vacate this forum....
    Is it home time yet?

Afternoon, I am too hot to do much and feel grumpy

    [STRIKE]
    Washing online
Have shower - scrub streaky fake tan off legs
    Our bedroom
    - tidy
    - hoover
    - clean windows
    - dust
    [/STRIKE]

DS1 and 2 say they have tidied their rooms ready for cleaning but I have not been to look yet.

DS3 has slip slide out. He wanted paddling pool - neighbours have one of those massive swimming pools in there garden and my kids want one - no way on all fronts. Got paddling pool out and pleased with how clean it was when I put it away. Have not found the energy to pump it up yet. Still he is happy for now.

Need to bake a cake and start tea - see you all later

    katherine - welcome

This thread has really helped me get on top of the housework so even though I've done virtually nothing this week expcept the dailies the place is looking OK. Well compared with how it used to look it's looking fantastic! I started out the week by thinking I'd do loads (being on holiday from school) but I've just concentrated on being on holiday for most of the time. :o

Dustykitten ... I used to go for weeks without changing the sheets on our bed (or possibly months) whispers but since getting on to this thread it's every week.

Hugs and positive wishes to all those in need of them. :grouphug: You are an amazing set of people, struggling with all sorts of issues and still managing to be supportive to each other and your families, kind and hardworking and funny. I'm learning so much, and it's mostly not about housework.

happy at home ---- you mean there aren't supposed to be little spongy white blobs? I'm sure they are the sign of a well loved matress. And also a sign that you shouldn't EVER turn the matress over.
