Blimey they're still knocking out FZ7s @ £229 - not what you'd exactly call cheap (given other postings)

    And cheapest delivery is £6.99.

I sometimes wonder if the likes of Ebuyer and PC World watch these forums - or notice a high demand - and react by upping the prices!

Anyway, anyone who is patient will probably be able to get one cheaper again in the future from somewhere else.

Where did you see that your order status was now 'Not Allocated' - in Google Checkout Acct or by logging into Ebuyer? And was the amount taked from your card already at the time that the status was 'Dispatched'?

[ If money was debited from your acct while they had no stock, isn't Ebuyer breaking it's T's & C's with the credit card co? ]

Useful post from zaccy, other Ebuyer/Google Checkout purchasers watch out! In the case of my order, the Status has so far only got as far as: "£170.12 charge - Your credit card...." - I plan not to call Ebuyer as it is their job to let me know any important changed status.

If this system is taking and sitting on money for stock known to be non-existent then I will be contacting the credit card co. and lodging a complaint.

[ edit ] just checked out the Canon S3is - weakness is it's use of AA NiMH cells. One of the biggest bugbears with our current camera is it uses 2 of these and although good when new, they need reconditioning & looking after to get good performance.

All other things being equal, looks like the Panny will take 4 times as many pics / keeps is lcd going 4 times longer on it's Lithium battery. Reviewers were saying they just couldn't exhaust the Panny's battery in one day.

With batteries, been there done that. Ran out of power on a weekend away, in the tourist shop only Ever Ready zinc carbons were avail, when tried they would not even start the camera! But if you give used alkalines a rest they do come back for a 2nd try.

Anyway this thread has been the inspiration for a cam upgrade. Will just have to see how Ebuyer behaves!

Would really like the TZ3 though but at £100 more it's not a difficult decision. Check this review especially the Video http://www.cameralabs.com/reviews/PanasonicTZ3/ Now I am really getting off topic.

    .

The TZ3 can be had for £228 from several places I am waiting for mine from camerabox.co.uk
