Thanks for that Mike, i have DxO Optix pro which always does the job for me, Im considering just picking it up and playing with it, at the end of the day they have no remaining stock so I could (a bit naughty) take it back and say its faulty if it does not live up to my expectations?!?!? i.e. they cant enforce their no return policy because theres nothing to replace it with??? (did this b4 on a portable DVD that was non returnable, it WAS faulty and they just refunded me regardless :j0

Panasonic DMCFZ7BB
I wanted one of these little beauties, and at £149.99 it seemed a bargain.
Managed to locate one at Argos in Leicester yesterday (I don't live near Leicester, but have a brother in law who does and is willing to get it for me).
I reserved it and quoted the reservation number, price, description etc to him over the phone.
Today I notice Argos have increased the price by £80. If he is collecting it today, will he be asked to pay the new price or will they honour the lower price.
There was no indication of an impending price rise yesterday, but unfortunately, I have no hard copy of the reservation. In the past I have always just quoted the reservation number (usually scribbled on a scrap of paper).
Does anyone know what Argos's policy is on this?
Thanks.

I don't think they have to honour. This happened the other day with us. I asked a manager before I went to the till and she said they would sell at the reserve price. Then it turned out I had to go to a different store as that was where the reservation code pointed to. When they tried to hit me for the full price I advised them that a manager had ok'd it and they sold for the reserve price.0

Brother in law has just been to Argos and they won't budge on the price, so as far as I'm concerned they can shove the camera where the flash don't shine!:(0

Mate, if Argos want to try charging you £229 (149+70) then you are better off buying the newer FZ8 which is much better and can be found online for £209 (pixmania) £208 (ebuyer) and less than £180 on eBay.0 -
Even cheaper here...I'm tempted !!honestDave wrote: »Mate, if Argos want to try charging you £229 (149+70) then you are better off buying the newer FZ8 which is much better and can be found online for £209 (pixmania) £208 (ebuyer) and less than £180 on eBay.

Whoops link is to a different camera but the site is offering it for £189.99.0 -
frakison; I have no 'real' experience of this camera and have been looking at either this type or a beginners Digital SLR, I read as many reviews as I could about this Panasonic and whilst it takes good shots in good light the issues with the high noise levels at ISO, above 200 even, has put me off permanently.
If you want to see what photos can be taken with any camera, Flickr now uses the Exif data within photos to catalogue each picture and has example photos for each camera, for example from a Panasonic DMC-FZ7 -

Main advantage of the FZ8 to me is the better viewfinder, this was picked up in a review by a very fussy reviewer. it may well come down in price over time.0

Just ordered the Panasonic FZ8 from Dixons in the end. I rang their price match telephone number and mentioned that buyacamera.com were selling the silver version for £189.99 + £6.99 del. (for some reason the black version is over £40 dearer).
Nice chap at Dixons offered me a black version for £185.00 + £3.99 del (which is cheaper than the £6.95 on the Dixons website).
So now I'm happy that Argos refused to honour the original sale on the FZ7 cos I've got a far newer and better spec camera for only a little more than the OP price on the FZ7.
Just got itchy fingers now waiting for it to be delivered (5 working days unfortunately!)

The sooner this damn thread disappears the better!!
I have a perfectly good FZ3 that I bought about 18 Mths ago (Thanks to MSE!) and I cannot justify wasting another £150 - £200 & getting an FZ8, let alone an FZ7, much as I would love to.
I might be tempted when they come down to around the £49.99 mark so I guess I'll have a long wait.
Meanwhile my FZ3 is perfectly Ok thanks."Unhappiness is not knowing what we want, and killing ourselves to get it."Post Count: 4,111 Thanked 3,111 Times in 1,111 Posts (Actual figures as they once were))Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea.0
