I'm just !!!!ed off this evening. I can't work out the password for our ebay gmail account, usually it just forwards straight to my usual gmail. Gmail says I don't know enough details about the account to reset the password. ARGH.

Oh lordy, don't mention Christmas Wendz! On OH's side we did the Secret Santa draw about 6 weeks ago (they like to be organised!) and we've forgotten who we're buying for! Made a guess at who the people are and hoping for the best, fingers crossed we're not wrong or one of OH's brothers is going to have a very girly gift! ;) At least on my side we get to buy cute things for my nephew this year and we can dress him up as an elf! :)

Very annoying about the e-mail Dinah, I'm always getting locked out of my accounts thanks to super tight security, does my head in! :p Hope you managed to access it.

I'm not sure what it is, but I just CBA with work now. :( We had a quiet period in July/August where there wasn't an awful lot to do (freeze on work being released for year end, nothing sinister!) and I got used to not really doing anything and now we've got work to be done I just don't want to do it! :o I've been given a little project to work on but I just don't give 2 hoots about it so it's not really getting anywhere and whilst I was away they announced a new career building programme because we're supposed to work our way up the different levels in the massive book they gave us and move departments and go up the ladder... but I just don't want to! Every single job looks like it's above my knowledge/skill level and I feel so stuck, dependent on the wage so I can't go and do something where I don't feel like a fish out of water and it looks like I'm going to be doing this job forever because I can't move on, I can't even look forward to a year off because I'll probably have to come back after 6 months. *Le sigh*. Bit of a down day for me! :o

I am very excited about buying lots of cute kid stuff this year. Will have 4 nieces to buy for plus Poppy and 3 of Poppys friends.

Hope work gets a bit better, might be the holiday blues a bit? Are you going to try and go back part time after maternity leave?

If they want you to work your way up they should give you the support to do that so hopefully you wouldn't be out of your depth. Maybe if you could force yourself to do it you'd be able to work fewer hours when you go back but on a higher wage, get over the inertia and enjoy more time with your LO?

Never got into the email account, NIM is going to call the relevant company today, get them to resend the vital link thats now trapped in there to another account.

TBH there's so much to IT that I think I'll always feel a little out of my depth, the stuff just won't stick in my head (probably because it's soooo boring!) :o But, yeah, I guess they're supposed to support me so I have to suck it up and go with it and accept any training etc they can offer me. Just having a bit of a fed-up-ness about it all right now as I often feel like I'm blagging it and that gets tiring after a while! :p I can't see any of this progression happening before February anyway but I suppose it's something to aim for once I'm back, might be good to waste a few weeks by going on training courses and 'networking' with other departments. :p

Wendz, I'll be going back full time after maternity leave, might be able to do a month's worth of short weeks by using holiday but then its back to 5 days. Not sure how I'll cope but we'll have to cross that bridge when we come to it!

Anyhoo, in happy home news, the spare room is getting all turned around/emptied so we can set up the nursery. :) OH dismantled the knackered corner wardrobe and we loaded it into the car at lunch to take it to the tip, it was all sticking out so I drove really slowly with my heart in my mouth... to get to the tip and see the sign that it's closed on Wednesdays! How annoying! Try again tomorrow! I have to empty my wardrobe tonight so OH can move it into our bedroom tomorrow morning, which looks like it'll involve taking it apart and rebuilding in our room since it's too tall to go through the doorway and the hall is too tight to wiggle it through and around on a tilt (we tried a couple of years ago and despite shouting 'Pivot! Pivot! PIVOT!' it didn't work! :rotfl:) But, after all that work, we get to build tiny furniture which is so cute I could cry! :j

Sounds awesome birdie can't wait to see the builder baby room once it's all sorted! PIVOT!! Made me giggle :)
Shame about work hut your head must be all over the place with baby things I guess. If they're going to help you progress though that's good! Is there somethinng a little different you could do like could you be a trainer in IT or something? You're such a good people person I think you'd be good at that..

    I'm here Wendz!

Nursery is coming on well, just struggling with storage in the rest of the flat a bit now as we've lost a wardrobe and a shelving unit! It'll get sorted at some point... I hope! :o Just need to have yet another clear out so we've got less stuff to worry about! Went to see a friend on Saturday and came away with 2 boxes of baby clothes, a moses basket, steriliser and the snarkiest book of baby names ever, so that was a good visit; our place looked like the cutest Chinese laundry ever on Sunday afternoon with all of the tiny clothes hanging around to dry! :)

It's the first round of the office bake off tomorrow, very nervous about my scones! It's good that we're in teams as we can share the baking duties but then it's also scary as if you get it wrong, the whole team suffers! :o

For Poppy's advent calendar, you could either do a string of little pouches or get a piece of backing fabric and sew on 24 little pockets, if you're feeling adventurous you can do them in a Christmas tree shape or something? :) I just put 'Advent calendars to sew' into Google images and it came up with loads of ideas. Thinking about doing a pocket one for OH this year as the buckets are looking past their best now! Whatever you do, don't forget to share pictures with us! :)

I realised yesterday that I'm going to have to make a new Christmas jumper this year as last year's won't fit! Boo! :(
