Your cake pops looked ace, Shrimpy! Any chance of getting a peek at your wedding pics?
Yes that's my viva in March. Looking forward to getting to that stageHope I pass _pale_
ThanksI should get my 'proper' pics back this week so will do a link for anyone who is interested. There are some on fbook but I'm not sure we're friends on there...? Happy to share though if you're interested
I used to be PA for a couple of professors - seeing 'viva' in their diary always made me think of the Spice GirlsYou will be great! Are you having a fancy dress party? I think I'm going to have a Christmas party this year as last year was such a crappy one.

Lol I hadn't even noticed. Hopefully our end of month total will bring us down into 4 digits.
Skating class last night, instructor seems to find me amusing if not particularly skilled. I love having exercise I actually enjoy
Today is the first day of mum and dad doing childcare since mum went back to work, NIM turned up to drop her off at 11 and dad was nowhere to be found. Then mum rushed back to take her to her music class which as it turns out doesn't start again until next week. The system needs fine tuning.
£40.05 of sales on Amazon in the last few days, and our phones are all packaged up so will be stopping at the post office on the way home. Also got a refund from two asos orders today so that was good, just need the skate people to find that order I returned and we'll be in a much more positive position for next month, atm we're looking ropey no matter how many crazy 70+ hour weeks NIM has worked.
Trying to eek it out but probably going to need to go food shopping towards the end of the week. In fruit terms our fridge has none (two bananas on the side), and in veg terms I think we're at one potato, half a pack of mushrooms and two onions once I've made tonight's curry with the last aubergine, some mushrooms, some freezer prawns and frozen green beans. We still have a bit of meat in the freezer if you're not picky, we've got rice although out of pasta, but Grace loves her fruit and veg so really do need to get some nice healthy bits. I have made the agreement with NIM I'll finally try Aldi though, so will see what they have to offer then go online see if their prices really are cheaper than what I normally pay at Tesco.
Depressed last night, £25 of fuel in my car and it didn't even get to the quarter full line
One more working day to go for me, off Thursday and Friday, I really look forward to my days with Grace like Christmas now I have 3 fewer of them a week.
She was good last night, slept through so I feel a lot more able to face the day. Was lovely coming home last night, NIM and Grace had toddled up to meet me off the train, she was stood on the platform just holding one of his hands and was toddling at speed to meet me barely with support. She picked a gorgeous pair of red patent leather boots (think baby doc martins) and she just looked so gorgeous running up to me in her red boots and coat. Need to give NIM some girl clothing training though as she was only in her t-shirt, coat, boots and tights - no skirt, dress or trousers! He just thought they were leggings with feet! I can understand the mistake if you come from a gender whose wardrobe consists of shirt/tshirt with trousers/jeans but her little nappied bum was on show through the tights and she was a bit chilly.
Everyone please send good wishes for my friend. Her little boy was born 2 years ago at 25 weeks following a healthy first pregnancy at 40 weeks. They assumed it was a fluke incident and she's now expecting again, she's 24 weeks and they've told her they think she'll deliver within 2 weeks. Everyone cross your fingers and say a prayer she can hold on until at least 30 weeks.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Morning all. Very quiet today. Not much news here, spent £24 yesterday on two pairs of work ballet shoes, as the sole came off my last remaining pair. They were half price, hence why I got two at once, I wear these almost exclusively throughout the year so I certainly get my money's worth. I did make a stupid mistake though and managed to buy one pair one shoe size 5 and the other size 6! I'd worn them before I realized (in the sense of 'owwwww my foot hurts!) so I don't even think I can take one back to get a pair that match.
NIM is job hunting again. Despite dropping everything whenever work needed him they've given him a stunning 2 shifts in the next month. We can't even hope to live off that, so he's looking at market research again as a way to bring in a lot more money and have more family time, he even admitted he enjoyed his last job, just loosing it threw his confidence a massive amount and sent him running to something completely different. His current feeling is he doesn't want to be in healthcare if he can't be a doctor, and our finances won't stretch to that.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Dinah I would still try to take them back if I was you. Most shops check the size at the till. Depending what shop it was they might have sympathy. Take Grace in to smile sweetly at them!
Sending good wishes to your friend as well.Barclaycard [STRIKE]£7,296.35[/STRIKE] £6134.99 - MBNA [STRIKE]£4,182.88[/STRIKE] £3267.08 - O/draft [STRIKE]£569.31[/STRIKE] £413.59 - Capital One [STRIKE]£1477.55[/STRIKE] £1451.44Total debt [STRIKE]£12048.54[/STRIKE] £11267.10 6% paid0 -
Hope you manage to sort out things childcare wise, i am sure they will get used to it.
That is so cute about her meeting you, bet she looked so cute. My OH has no idea on outfits as well, i find her in all sorts when i get home sometimes.
I agree petrol is depressing :-(
Thinking of your friend and hope they manage to hold on. My cousins wife will be having her twins by next week when she will be 37 weeks. She has had lots of problems so is good she has made it this far.
Good luck to NIM jobhunting. If he enjoyed the market research sounds like might be worth getting into again. Hours might be more stable as well.
Not much news here. Money dissapearing like nobodies business as usual. Going for a couple of drinks for someones birthday after work so OH is in charge at home.
Got the car mot and service tomorrow. Hopefully wont be too much wrong although we think we will at least need one new tyre and break pads. Tax due at end of month too and then insurance and aa in nov :-( .0 -
NIM what's this notts opportunity?
Hi Tink and anyone else who might be interested (Cinny I'm looking at you)
The thing in notts is sitting down and counting people going past you for a while. If you do be interested drop me a PM, cant really say more on a public board.NIM is job hunting again. This is about right. I'm hopping. I've bent over backwards, told them the days I couldn't do and they gave me 4 of the 6 shifts I've been assigned on those dates. So going in tonight to clear all of these off the rota. Not a happy bunny. This was 6 months out of date so I've changed it.:j:j:j:j0 -
A quick suggestion because I'm on my tablet. Would ye consider selling and downsizing? Ye have quite a lot of equity so could clear the debts and be less stressed. Or else rent and use some of the money to fund NIM to study to be a doctor?Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

I thought you were still on the doctor path just deferred a little while while the debt gets paid off..?!
Research sounds interesting but I've got so much on right now I'm getting panicy about itlots of head in sand happening over here
thought It might interest a friend but they can't sit for too long! Thanks tho!
Going back into market research sounds like a plan if you can't be a medic, I bet you've learnt so much in your short time though in healthcaresuch a shame about the shifts... Can you manage on Ds wage for living costs etc?

The plan was to defer medicine for a year, however with my job looking likely to go NIM needs to be earning. He's also made the decision that he's not sure he wants to be studying throughout Grace's childhood, he'd rather be around for it. As he put it, what's best for him is medicine, what's best for our family is probably quite different. I'll support him whatever he decides, but if I do loose my job it probably becomes impossible anyway.
We have talked about selling and downsizing but neither of us are keen, it's a bit drastic to clear the debt to be honest. We adore our house and neighbours, we'd never get something this size for our money again, and I really don't want to live off the equity for a few years and end up with nothing again. If I do loose my job we'll either have to sell or move in with my parents and rent it out anyway though
Been working on some designs for the website for dad tonight, what works IRL just doesn't translate well to the web in his case.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008
