He doesn't pay me at present, or rather he slips me £50 from his personal account every month or so, whenever a big order comes in really. The idea is by neither of us taking money out now the business might be in a position to employ me two days a week by Easter or so. So while it's not great for time atm it's one of my long term plans.
Ah that's fair enough! That would be brilliant if he was in the position to do that. Would that mean you could leave the council? Did he ever get paid from that pal of his that was way behind with his salary?
Since Ireland doesn't seem to stock white chocolate kitkats!!! Lol, I was wondering if anyone had a nice chocolate cake recipe. There are obviously loads online but a tried and tested one would be good!
I have done up a Ferrero Rocher sweet tree for the adults at the party. It was a flippin nightmare getting the sweets to stick to the tree but I think I did it. I was determined not to use cocktail sticksTotal (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

What bank are you with now, Dinah? Just Halifax are offering £100 to switch at the moment. I'm debating it, but I need to speak to Santander first as I have the 123 account - don't know if I'm locked into that now as it's a "paid" account?
Would be great if your Dad could employ you a couple days a week, you'd finally have that creative at home job you always wanted. And, obviously, Grace time! How's NIM doing with the long weeks? I was shattered with 50 hour weeks and I only live around the corner
Don't have a chocolate cake recipe, sorry CMD! I'm sure Dinah will though, she has all the recipes0 -
We did get a really sweet card from Grace, entirely done by her. Inside is just a scribble and the front has an amazing volume of glitter on it, but I can't stop grinning that my tiny baby is now making me cards
Thats so lovelyI actually had a little tear in my eye when we got our first card made by Noah :rotfl:
He did it with his grandma while we were both at work and it was for Christmas, is still pride of place on his wall of 'master pieces'. I cant bare to part with any of the stuff hes done, but theres so much already and hes no even at nursery or school! Think we will need to get a little box to put it in.Biggest Loser Weight Loss: 13 / 20 lb0 -
No idea on chocolate cake here either, can't remember what recipes i have used before.
I have a massive amount of pictures etc as she is at nursery. I have kept most of them but starting to have to be a bit more selective now!0 -
I tend to use hummingbird's chocolate recipe , although I'd double it for a 2 tier victoria sandwich type cake.
We're mostly with hsbc, but also have a first direct account and santander.
He's doing okay, knows its for a goal. Depressing thing is this many hours still doesn't get him to his old wage.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Aww, that's really cute with all the "art" things. Would a filing type box for bills and things work? That way you could section it into years if you wanted to be super organised! But it wouldn't help when they start bringing little sculptures home from school!
Decided to stop being a baby and applied for an account with a different bank. It's £100 and £5 every month if you pay in over £750. Plus I get to design my card. I CAN HAVE RYDER ON MY CARD OR BACON!0 -
LOL I was seriously tempted to switch for the personalised card too, Cinny! It's the little things. Shame I don't actually earn any money anymore though
Hoping to finish the PhD end of November and start a paid internship January - March. Then my final panel / exam thing is at the end of March and I will be looking for a job.

Mum sent us over £25 this morning with an email saying 'go out for lunch the three of you and enjoy some time out the house - for payment I want a snapchat of you enjoying it' - so just had a very nice italian and she was right, it was lovely to just be able to enjoy it and not feel guilty that we'd spent any money. NIM also gave me a very sweet anniversary speech too.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

I can proudly say I've just crossed something off my day zero list: 'make cake pops' - has anyone tried it before? Bloody hell, don't! The icing melts, they fall apart, they slide down the stick.... everything I own now seems to be covered in white chocolate and all I have is a puddle of slightly lumped goo to show for it. I really hope I can shave them into balls to decorate my brother's birthday cake with otherwise it's going to be a bit dull.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008
