Glad to hear everything's OK Dinah.
Well done on the debt clearing! :T
Nice to hear you're enjoying your time with Grace. It's a big decision to have a second child considering your health issues so try not to get too bogged down with it right now. Would you look at surrogacy? Either way I think it'll cost a lot to have a child by 'non traditional' methods so maybe you should think about putting money away for that time. At least if you do go for surrogacy or adoption there's not such a tight schedule to stick to so you can take a few more years to save up.
What's the challenge for July?
I'd love it if you could send me some pics of any bump friendly vintage dresses you can find!Didn't get a chance to look over the weekend and starting to get a bit panicky now! We'll have to start making proper plans now that it's happening *this month*!
Oooh talking about things happening this month- Wendz!!!! :j
I think the people on my team know I'm pregnant but they're being nice and discreet about it, giving me time to tell them when I'm ready rather than pushing me to tell them which I appreciate. It's kind of obvious that I am because I'm suddenly really bloated, not playing badminton, gone off coffee, didn't have a glass of wine with lunch last week etc, it's so strange that I'm keeping it secret but on the other hand I feel so strange about telling people!
It's nice to hear that people still get to do nice things with kids, but I guess my point is that we're just enjoying being baby-free whilst we still can. Even though we'll still be able to go out next year (and we're lucky to have a decent support network for childcare), it'll be totally different.we're ready for it though.
Hope the books are well received Wendz!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -
Definately still enjoy your baby free time, especially things like lie ins etc!
I found it really weird telling people too, my work friend told most people lol.
Oh yes wedding this month eek! I sent OH a message this morning as he was on night shift saying last chance to get away hehe.0 -
Got my student loan end of year letter yesterday, annoyingly it says I made no payments from self assessment and doesn't have any of the payments on I did make from my wages. It drives me batty how ineffectual they are, despite sending them my marriage certificate and covering letter to say I've moved twice they still send everything to mum and dads house. They're also threatening to take my brother to court as they think he was overpaid, despite mum posting the information to them twice, and then actually physically taking it to the office as they claimed not to have received it despite it being sent recorded delivery both times!
Does the statement say "Final Annual Statement" at the top? If not, then SLC do not have all the information from HMRC yet so hang fire.
The local authorities do not process the loans these days, it is all done by SLC at Darlington. This is typical for them not taking any notice of paperwork.0 -
Depressingly yes, it says final annual statement, will need to call them.... urgh!
It's the Darlington office we've been dealing with, tbh I didn't realise it was ever local authority.
How exciting Wendz!Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Sounds like you need to call SLC and get them to chase up HMRC, they might try and put you off claiming they are still receiving information. Tell them it is the final annual statement and go through the numbers from your P60 and Self Assessment with them.
The student loans were handled by local authorities between 1998 and 2003 (I think), before SLC took over all the processing as the local authorities were always getting into a right mess. That is how I started at SLC doing the data entry before taking over handling the requests from the local authorities wanting assistance.0 -
Dinah glad to see you back and hear that everything is okay.
Good luck NIM on your first day. I worked with people with learning disabilities for 10years and loved it. Kind of miss it now I'm not doing it too!
Dinah is there a challenge for July? We are still working on JDIJ, got a plasterer here this morning skimming one of the dining room walls and finishing our fireplace :j I'm so excited. Still got a fair bit to go with the dining room but a July challenge would be exciting too.

What kind of July challenge would people like?Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

I always assumed you are so organised and have got them planned out months before
A money one would be good for me as I've been spending money on the dining room. As much as I don't mind as it means the job was done a lot faster, it does mean less money to go towards debtGoals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2000 -
