I've just had a thought Ruby, is your friend trying to recreate Bride Wars?! :p

Well done on the sales Dinah. It's good that you're getting them even without having the time to put loads of effort into marketing! :T

Can't believe that Ben is 4 months old already! And smiling now, how lovely! I didn't like those first weeks when I was nothing more than a slave to a stone faced tiny overlord. Much nicer now that he crawls over to me to give me loves! He's trying to say 'Mama' too and he's starting to use it in context; this morning I was sneaking about getting ready for work and I could hear him stirring and talking to himself and he must have heard me as he then sat up and said '
Mummmmmammmmmmmummmmma' :) Could have been a coincidence but I like to convince myself otherwise! :p

Hurrah for being allowed dairy again too! Hope you're celebrating with a big bar of Dairy Milk! :)

I could only see Cinny's posts earlier too, but now I can see them all but the signatures are garbled.

I beat the damn system :D I think there was a massive troll problem yesterday AM, I only got around the signature problem by updating it early on in the day I think?

Happy 4 months, Ben! That's gone worryingly fast?! And congrats on the sales :D

That's adorable about Zach! I'd have taken it as a big sign (along with the weather) to stay home ;) He's grown up so ruddy quickly too, you all need to have words with your kids and tell them to just ease up a little. I'm feeling old!

And a massive hell no to your friend, Ruby! What the actual heck is wrong with her? Hope you manage to get to talk to her about it, and I'd 100% be keeping all wedding plans close to my chest. Or just lie completely, think of the worst decorations/food/everything and see if she still copies ;)

I would have taken that doll to the sink and set it on fire, Wendz :A Horror is my favourite genre but it's a love hate relationship :o

I didn't even think about Bride Wars Birdie! And Cinny, OH suggested the same thing! She's always been a bit insecure I think and has a lot going on at the moment and it doesn't help that her dad is really ill and asked her to bring the wedding forward. I'm not upset about her possibly getting married a few weeks before me or that she's changed her possible colour scheme and likes the same dress as me. The thing that's got me is that she would then go on her honeymoon straight away and miss my wedding. Going to give it till the weekend and then call her and have a talk.

Glad you can have dairy again Dinah, although I have to say I've developed a borderline addiction to chocolate oat milk. Couldn't go completely dairy free though; I love cheese too much.

  • Oh no Ruby, I can't believe your friend!!! If it were me I would have to have words. A good friend of mine was getting married a few months before me and I told her nothing about my dress, I told her a different colour scheme for bridesmaids until she got married and as my wedding was in a different country I didn't have to worry about anything else. My advice is tell her nothing from here on in. I can completely understand her bringing the wedding forward, but not going on honeymoon for your wedding. Over here it is fashionable now to have a mini moon directly after the wedding and then have your honeymoon a few months later. She really doesn't sound like a proper friend, insecure or not!

Cinny - you really did beat the system! Good on you, yours was the only post I could read earlier!

Well done on the sales Dinah, you must be thrilled! I hope you get some more time to yourself to start working on marketing but I know how hard it is with 2 young kids.

Re: the housing proposals. Initially I went nuts but now I have sat back and read everything I think it is a good idea (if it goes through, it is only a proposal at the moment). House prices have increased by 25% in the last year in the area we want to buy so something needs to be done. We would have the 20% for the lower end of our budget saved and it would take us until next Dec to save for the higher end of our budget, so not too long really.

Glad that the new mortgage rules won't affect you too badly CMD. :)

I think you do need a good chat with your friend Ruby, maybe she's just not thinking straight? If you really want that dress I might be tempted to tell her to back off too ;) Hope she sees sense and realises that you're not her wedding planner and she has to a) consider your feelings and b) plan her own darn wedding rather than pinching your ideas! :p

I need some ideas ladies- doing my first craft fair in a couple of weeks  and got frames to sell but wanted to make some other little things to sell too. Any ideas?!

Haha! I went to see a relatives baby this weekend and the difference between a screaming newborn I saw last time and this smiley little person at 3 months was lovely.
Can't believe Ben is 4 months, that's gone so quickly.

I feel out of the loop on the news, will have to go read what this Irish housing thing is.

Glad all is going well Kavics :)

My current job can get a bit OTT at times, lots of long hours and people cancelling their holidays at last minute to work. It's easy to get sucked in and I enjoy it but my holidays are set in stone as far as I'm concerned!

Glad to hear that people still remember me even though I havent been around for a while!

Well the good news is we should hopefully have the keys to somewhere new to live by next week. I guess that means I should start trying to see just how bad the money situation is!

Oooft! Just caught up and so happy to see it's become busier on here again!! I've been so busy and have hardly stopped to think so sorry for not being here (and for anything/everything I forget to comment on!)

Tete I have a friend who did the nqt in terms rather than in 1 go. It would be great if you can stick it out because the accomplishment would be amazing but then you could perhaps do supply teaching while you take a break/look for a different non teaching job and if you've done the nqt I think you get paid more and obviously the supply teacher work should be less planning marking stresses etc.. Just a thought! I'm stuck in a job confusion at the moment where I need to make decisions but it's too hard and easier to bury my head in the sand!

Managing to actually save monthly quite well now which is a good feeling although there is still super high rent and I'm not keeping track of spends or anything very well..! I've locked myself out of my online banking too but haven't had the time/inclination to sort it out - maybe a job for today...!?

Decluttering is hard here because it's hard to get to a charity shop or anything to take things to and we have a small space but we need or use most things.

Been doing some baking recently which was nice although it means you end up eating more baked goodies! Tried a few Pinterest recipes which worked quite nicely (didn't look like the pictures though eeek!)

Hope everything is okay with your dad CMD

Well done for your business successes birdie and Dinah! I'm very jealous if love to start something of my own but I have no ideas :( don't have much time either though to be fair but I could make time for something important! The frames and mugs look amazing and I'll bear them in mind for presents Etc! Birdie do the frames have to be hung or do they have a standing up option? (Not allowed holes in the walls!) Very cheeky about your friend. I think that's very out of order and rude. I think the frames are a steal for how polished and professional they look and the materials in them so I can't believe she had the audacity to ask!

I don't want to lose my post so I think I'll post then wrote again!

Sorry didn't want my post to get lost if it timed out because as you can see above, I wrote an essay!!

Flower how old are Noah and Poppy now? I can't believe how old all of the babies are! Some of them aren't even babies any more! Makes me feel weird and very old!! How is Ben 4 months!!? And how is birdie back at work?! Hope everything is going well with Lara's baby too!

Cinny I've noticed your house deposit is looking extremely healthy in your sig! Well done! It might be that I haven't been here for a whole but it feels like it's built up very quickly! Any tips?

Very exciting about the man news kavics! Keep us updated! I can't believe people are finding their friends husbands on tinder, that is just so rude and makes me lose a lot of faith. I think dating apps and websites can be so good but it's a minefield out there! It shocks me in a big city people can't just meet through more traditional methods! Some of my friends Timder stories are funny though!!

Dinah did you ever get the maternity money come through or the money from bens birth? Hope you did!! And it's helping to knock down the debt :) how is NIM doing? I've got a bit lost with where he is workwise but I hope he's okay and enjoying his job without too many horrible shifts etc!

Ruby how exciting about the wedding plans but your friend just sounds a bit weird sounds like a jealousy/insecurity thing to me but it's really odd that she's copying you. I would second not telling her anything and even if you have the same colour schemes, things will still be so different really and I'm so excited for you!
