Oooh those Unibond units look good! Might have to get some to try out, we're still battling the damp and mould too and are on the last of our moisture sucker-uperers that we bought for £1 each in a closing down sale, and they're not that great anyway. We must have 4 in Zach's room, we're so paranoid about it!
Luckily I managed to cover the cost of the table and there were no travel costs to take into account, just a shame that my biggest sale of the day came from SIL who came through to help me!I've seen a poster for another fair in a town 15 minutes down the road so might see if I can get a table there.
We're trying our best to be sensible this Christmas and not buy too much as we're nearly full to bursting as it is! I know that OH will cave and buy a load of rubbish in December though but right now we're got him a ride-on fire engine and a big car ramp thingy and I think that's enough.Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. I was looking at trying the unibond thing. We were going to get some fitted in two of our bedrooms at about £120 each. They recycle the air and are fitted into the wall or ceiling. However the unibond option would be better if it works.Total debt Feb 2012 = £54354.11 😳

Thinking we might have to get something for condensation - I just feel like we have a really moist house! Having new guttering and fascias fitted next week so I'm hoping that will combat some of the problem, as the damp seems to hit where there's a massive hole in the current set up!
Sorry to hear Grace is poorly, hope she's better soon!
Need a little wedding help, ladies! It's my Cousin's wedding in a fortnight and I've been planning on wearing this dress (dress is really white, colours are a bit better in this picture!) But it's just hit me.. church in November?? Err, need something to cover up a little! Problem is I have nothing that will go in terms of a shawl or blazer, and I'm not classy enough to own a smart coat. Don't suppose anyone can think of anything?! Or links to things?:o:o

How about a little black faux fur jacket Cinny?
Can't believe we're on the 10th November already! Last time I checked it was the middle of October! Need to get thinking about Christmas now for real- eeek!
Hope everyone is OK and has had a nice weekend. Ours was spent mainly inside as Zach had been poorly all week (bad chesty cough, then S&D on top of that! Poor little man!) and he infected us so OH stayed off work on Friday and we lay about feeling sorry for ourselves watching movies and did the same on Saturday then yesterday had a little trip out to the posh shopping park on the outskirts of York, had a Nandos then went back to our sofa! Sick babies are such hard work. Like, seriously hard work! Like, I was telling OH that I'm not sure if we should bother having any more because I actually don't really like this whole needy baby thing that's going on. How's that for a bad mummy confession?!

Poor Zach, hope he's on the mend
And that's not a bad mum confession at all! My Mum's a great Mum and said we used to drive her up the wall when we were sick growing up
Like the coat but I don't think I'd wear it afterwards? Plus with Ryder's hair it won't stay black for longBut imagine how snug I'd be!
My Christmas shopping is almost all done! Holding off until December for OH's present, although I've already got him two little bits. He asked me what I wanted yesterday and I turned into a little old lady asking for "a fluffy hooded dressing gown, some slippers, maybe some mints"0 -
It's just the worst thing about being a parent- not being able to hand them back to someone else when you've had enough!
If the fur coat is out (although I'd still check Primarni for a cheap one!) how about a black or red trenchcoat? I don't have anything in those colours (purple and pink, yes!) or I'd lend you one!
OH and I are so old now that instead of presents this year we're discussing buying a joint treat of a fancy coffee maker! I told my brother not to buy us anything this year and that we'll just get presents for the babies! Going to end up with about 3 things to open from my mum and dad and whatever rubbish I get from the Secret Santa-in-law! For someone who loves presents this is pretty sad!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. I sort of went way overboard buying for grace especially, but then I have always preferred seeing someone else's face light up to getting something myself. What I want for myself is time, no one can gift me that. Time to sew, or someone to watch them for an hour and a half on a Monday so I can go on the running clubs absolute beginner runs, see if my knee can take it. The last thing I need is anymore stuff (well maybe some trousers that fit that aren't maternity, but I'd rather do the running thing than just have an ever increasing trouser size). Oh and bras that don't have hooks for nursing that I keep accidentally undoing whenever I pick up a child or take off my handbag....These are not things I can ask santa for though unless the old man has a dirty streak I knew nothing about.
Still ill in this house too. Grace is snotty vomity and very huffy and puffy, woke up with blue lips this morning so if it gets any worse she's going to have to go to children's ward. Ben is snuffly, wildly and explosively sick and has a sore throat so his cries sound all husky. I'm just snuffly, headachy and have no voice. Definately the hardest non-crisis time of being a parent is when you're ill and have to look after them too, all you want to do is have a bath, nap and watch telly and you can't do any of things because you need to fill bottles, wipe noses, clean up puke and the telly is tuned to bloody cbeebies 24/7 (I do wonder if she wills herself to stay ill as it's the only time I let her have more than an hour of TV a day!).
Finally finished the decorating, bedroom looks brilliant. We've reduced our storage though from 3 wardrobes to 2 so I've packed up all the summer clothes to make space and put more in the eBay pile/room.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Sorry to hear about all the sickness that's going around, *touch wood* we've been ok here. Hope all the babies and big people are feeling better soon!
Cinny - Zara had some lovely large scarves (which are really wraps / blankets in my eyes) for about £15 in loads of different styles / patterns / colours. Maybe you could find something there?
I haven't even thought about Christmas yet as myself and OH could both be out of work come February so we're trying to be as tight with money as possible. Plus we're on holiday at the beginning of December but the spending money is all saved already.Emergency Fund - £8572.39 / £10,000 :: Mortgage OP 2025 - £LISA 24/25 - £3200 / £4000 :: NSD 2025 - 2 / 150 :: Books Read: 1 / 52 :: Decluttering - 4 / 1000Engaged 9th December 2010 :: Married 29th October 2015 :: Bought a House 13th January 20170 -
Hi all,
Sorry I have been rubbish and not around a lot.
Hope all the poorly kiddies feel better soon and Grace doesn't have to go to hospital.
I think I am quite lucky *Touch wood* that Poppy isn't a very sicky child but is no fun looking after them when ill and even worse when you are ill too.
Ruby - that sounds really tough with the job situation.
I still have quite a bit of christmas shopping to do but waiting for people to tell me what they want! Kids are so much easier although struggling with the 5 and 7 year old nieces.
Applied for Poppy school place this morning although have until Jan to change my options.0 -
We had the call this week to say grace has got her first choice of big school nursery place, my girl is not a baby anymore and it's scary...probably because I'll still have this diary making very little progress with money when I'm telling you she heard back about university!Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008
