Glad the decorating is done but ouch to the lost storage! I think my dream house would just have closets and drawers everywhere, with labels on everything! I swear my untidiness comes from just not having the space to put everything away properly! I need to sort our hall cupboard i.e. my craft and shoe cupboard, yet again but it's such an awkward job! I suppose I just have to be really ruthless and bin all the crud that I hold onto 'just in case'!
Sorry you're all feeling grotty too.It sucks, hope everyone is well soon!
Bad news about work Ruby.Hope something good happens and you either keep your jobs or find even better ones!
Wow, Wendz, I know we keep going over this but how can Poppy be old enough to be choosing schools?! She's such a little cutie!
Oh and Dinah, I hope you're still talking away to us when Grace is a teenager! Obviously on the MFW board though!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -

Thanks ladies, fingers are crossed that it will all work out in the end. A new vacancy just came up that sounds pretty interesting and it could be closer to home (and therfore less expensive to commute to) so I may look into that if I get some time today.
Birdie - that's my excuse too: not having enough storage means things are just left on the side / floor / hallway. I have a whole pile of clothes to ebay but just no time to do it. Actually I might make a start on it tonight (if I can be bothered by the time I get home)
Can't believe Grace is going to proper nursery and Poppy is going to school soon! Seems like yesterday they were born! I'll probably still be here when I'm an old maid (and not a millionaire).
Did anyone see that "How rich are you?" program on channel 4 last night? To be honest they could have done a lot more with the idea than they did. I was disappointed that they had the classic rich guy telling the poor to get off their a***s and then everyone else biting back at him. It could have been much better than that.Emergency Fund - £8572.39 / £10,000 :: Mortgage OP 2025 - £LISA 24/25 - £3200 / £4000 :: NSD 2025 - 2 / 150 :: Books Read: 1 / 52 :: Decluttering - 4 / 1000Engaged 9th December 2010 :: Married 29th October 2015 :: Bought a House 13th January 20170 -
I saw that programme Ruby but lost interest TBH.
At least they confirmed that it takes money to make money! Hate people saying 'Just get off your ar5e and you can be a millionaire too'... it's really not that easy or we'd all be rolling in it!
I had planned on working on decluttering and organising the craft pile/cupboard this evening but have a couple of orders I have to work on instead. Shame! Not that I'm putting it off at all... I have got sneaky plans to put more shelving in there but have to wait until payday next week before I go spending more money! It will be a good payday though, back to proper money- hurrah!

Just wrote a monster of a reply on my phone, accidentally hit 'previous thread' instead of post quick reply. I could cry. Today has not been a good day.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Ah shame dinah I hate when that kind of thing happens
thought I lost some work at work today but luckily found it! Work is busy busy again and not very exciting but looking forward to Christmas!! Haven't really started thinking about presents yet though.. You all sound far too organised but I'm much more of a December shopping gal!
Expected to have a bumper bank balance today because I've been away since payday and haven't taken out cash used cards but unfortunately standing orders and cc payments still come out.. Who knew! So not as flush as I thought/hoped I would be which is a massive shame.. Ha!
All this talk of nursery and school is so scary makes me feel ancient!!
Shame the fair wasn't a great success birdieI think they can be good though if they are well advertised and plenty of people turn up. Otherwise it seems like your fab page is a good way to go.. Are you on etsy too?
What's happened with the jobs ruby? Are you okay? Hopefully the new opportunity will be a good one although applying for jobs is so painful so good luck!0 -
Totally agree with you Birdie. Some people just don't live in the "real" world. At least you'll be back to some proper wages soon, yay! What's happened with the jobs ruby? Are you okay? Hopefully the new opportunity will be a good one although applying for jobs is so painful so good luck!
Thanks tink! Basically I'm on a fixed term contract that ends in 12 weeks and 4 days and no one can give me a straight answer as to if they want to keep me on or not. I was told when I started that they had the money in the budget for the permanenet post but they wanted to see how things went. They were sneaky and only put me on an 11 month contract so I'm not entitled to full benefits of working here. Apparently I have a meeting with both of my managers on the 21st where they will have a decision for me. Have applied for a couple more things just in case that doesn't work out.
OH's company is merging with another and his office base is moving. It would take him 3 hours each way to get there and they might not even have a post for him anyway. They offered him a lateral transfer into a department that's staying where he is now but they've frozen all recruitment and transfers till AFTER the move so he'll be out of work till that period is over. He's starting to look elsewhere because the transfer they've offered him is actually a step down from where he is at the moment.
It's all just one big unncessary stress.Emergency Fund - £8572.39 / £10,000 :: Mortgage OP 2025 - £LISA 24/25 - £3200 / £4000 :: NSD 2025 - 2 / 150 :: Books Read: 1 / 52 :: Decluttering - 4 / 1000Engaged 9th December 2010 :: Married 29th October 2015 :: Bought a House 13th January 20170 -

Oh thanks for the heads up! Will have a lookWas absent mindedly complaining about the situation at work and I've basically got everyone and their Mother bringing me jackets to look at on Monday :rotfl:
Sorry to hear about the work situation, no one wants thatHope you still manage to have a lovely Christmas despite it!
Hate it when you don't have as much money as you thought, Tink! Completely with you on the ancient feels, I still think of Grace as the little poppet I saw in York - whenever Dinah puts a picture of her on Instagram I'm really confused as to how she got that big so fast?! And then my Gracie turns 1 in two months... just how?!
Looking forward to Christmas too! I wish I could wait until December for presents like Tink. I always used to go on Christmas Eve with my Dad until I was about 16 and it was the most Christmassy feeling everBut now I console myself by waiting until C4 play Elf, and wrapping my presents/writing cards then. Although this year people are getting gift bags so I've kind of shot myself in the foot there too
:o
Love the idea of us all still chatting away all those years from now!Wouldn't be too out there.. I mean we've been chatting for over 5 years already right?? Definitely started talking before my 18th Birthday and I'm knocking on 24 now!
