  • Hi all,

Sorry to hear about all the sickness. We are a sick house too and I agree with the others. Nothing worse than feeling rubbish and having to mind little ones :(

Ruby - sorry to hear about your job stress. V bad luck that it is happening to both of you at the same time. Hopefully the holiday will allow you both unwind for a while.

Can't believe Poppy is going to big school. When does she start Wendz? Max is starting big school next Sept. Over here you can leave them until they are 5 so he will be 5.5yrs going. Evie will be just turning 5 when she goes, which is Sept 2016. She goes to playschool 2 mornings a week and loves it.

I think I have all the Xmas presents sorted for everyone. We went to OH's homeplace to see our new nephew last weekend and I brought all the presents with me. They looked at me like I was crazy but we won't be there til NYE so I wanted to offload them :)

    Hello,

Sickness here as well, toddler Kavics has chest infection so no nursery. I need to make a decision about pre school as well, she will be 2 and 3/4 in September and as long as she is potty trained she can go to pre school. Eeek. She is also 2 in a week time, I can't believe it.

I have Xmas sorted as well, only need to finish a photo book and order it.

    £1k in a day??? How?

It's an expensive month for me, need to get winter tyres tomorrow.

Also I lost my weight loss mojo, anyone has any tips how can I get it back?

    My thoughts exactly!

Sorry to hear toddler Kavics is poorly, hope the chest infection clears up soon. As for losing your weight loss mojo; you aren't the only one! Seem to have foudn a little inspiration from some of my minimins friends but it's hard work. Especially when the weather is so miserable and you just want to hibernate with cookies and milk.

Can't believe Max is almost ready for school now as well CMD! Where is the time going!

Hope everyone's feeling better in the Dinah-NIM house?! :)

How did you get on with the mega challenge yesterday Dinah?! Gosh, I'd be happy with £100 in a day! :)

Tink- I'm usually a December shopping gal too! We've just bought odd things here and there because we won't have had a chance to go back for them (like a farm play set from Ikea for nephew and a personalised boat planter thingy for my parents we found a guy selling in our local 'craft fair department store'). We don't actually have many people to buy for really; my parents, my nephew, SIL and FIL (OH's side's Secret Santa), Zacharoo and each other. SIL is getting hand-made things when I get round to doing it, thinking a frame, a necklace and a beady keyring using my jewellery making stash so pretty MSE. :)

I'm doing another fair next Friday night, it seems to be better advertised so hope it goes well!

Really hope things work out with the jobs Ruby. Hate not feeling secure and the process of applying for jobs is such a ballache! I really need to update my CV since I think I'm going to have to reapply for 'the same but different' job in my office soon but hate doing it! :o

Hope Little-K is better soon Kavics. Hope she enjoys her birthday too! :)

Had that depressing realisation last night that we're skint yet again. :( Can't wait for next year once we've had a couple of normal paydays from me to get things back to rights and we can feel comfortable again! Then we have to start paying off Florida! ;)

Kavics- I wish I knew how to get into the weightloss groove! :o I have so much to lose it's depressing. My manager has started doing a bootcamp style class 3 mornings a week (6.30am!) and the weight is dropping off her. I just don't have the time or money to do anything like that!

Hope everyone who was poorly is feeling better! I've suffered through a groggy head cold, but nothing too terrible yet. Silly Winter!

Weight loss is hard this time of year! It's cold and all you want is gravy, plus the festive season. I'd just say do other things to make you feel good until the mornings get lighter and it's easier to eat salad. Have little pamper moments, maybe get a new hair cut, throw some new accessories into your wardrobe mix.

I've fully given up on weight loss, my new body shape is a potato. Or chicken nugget on a good day. Why lose weight when I can cultivate mass? Wish I could get into the mind set I was a few Summer's back when I lost 30lb, but I just fully cba.

Happy future Birthday to Baby K! I think we need someone to come and explain time to us because it's really baffling right now.

I'm almost all done with my present shopping, just need to get a none creepy looking Olaf and my Santa list is complete! :) Ordered two Yankee Candles last night for my Cousin's Wedding. I got him and his W2B one called Wedding Day, and then one called Angel Wings for Gracie's Christening (they're doing a two-in-one combo!) After Olaf is sorted, I don't have to spend anymore money... ever! :T

Has anyone started with the food hoarding? We're getting things as they're cheap. Have a stash of J2O from when they were £2, some wine and rum (the latter being the most important!) coming with the weekly shop. We're desperately trying to eat through the stash in the freezer so we can fill it up with goodies on the Christmas shop. Only major problem is OH has set his heart on a turkey and a New Years beef joint from M&S :eek: I don't feel mature enough for that!

With you on skintness, Birdie! Two of my paydays a month seem to go purely on food and bills, and I'm just about to suffer that. Thankfully my Mum decided iPhones aren't her cup of tea so I have my old phone to recycle now. Only problem is it's water damaged but the pennies will still bridge the gap!

We don't really food hoard but one of Rich's workmates also works mornings in the posh supermarket next door to us and she has a soft spot for him so gave him a 15% friends and family discount voucher to use at the end of November so we're going to take advantage of it and stock up on booze and all things freezable for Christmas. We're hosting again as my parents don't have room for a big table in their house and my brother would never even contemplate offering! :p We don't mind too much TBH, means we don't have to spend 3 hours wondering if/when we can go home after dinner, we can both have a drink and don't have to worry about Zach since routines don't change (too much!) for special occassions! We're just not going so overboard this year as I had a bit of a meltdown over how much we spent on feeding the in-laws last year! :o

*Ahem* Cinny... I could have thought of better gifts for your cousin!!! ;):p;)

But wouldn't that mean have to have photos of them? :o:o:o:o lalalawfulfamilymemberlalala

We had a massive food bill last year too, but we were expecting to feed 8 people not 2  Noticed loads of places are doing discount bundles this year. So you get turkey and all the trimmings ready to go, just need to make the Yorkshires! I'm mostly looking forward to the salted caramel glazed roasted parsnips I saw at Morrisons :) Spending it on our own again this year, I think! OH's Mum is planning on a Christmas litter of puppies again, and I don't want to leave Ryder on Christmas day. So it's just us three, but I'm quietly looking forward to it

Cinny, do you actually still have the link to your diary/blog when you were losing weight? I remember following you and that really helped. Would be lovely to re-read it.

I don't stock food. I can't be trusted with food in the house unfortunately.

Birdie, I only had to buy presents for the kids, we don't do presents for grown ups. So 4 out of 5 gets lego as they were recently half price in tesco and the 5th kiddo is mine who will get books and a wooden doll house.
