    I'm always up for a challenge and have been trying to declutter recently. Already got rid of 25 items but there's lots more to sort through (who knew a 1 bedroom flat could accumulate so much stuff!

    That's a big difference in the tax credits! Just goes to show how much difference a change in circumstances can make to the overall picture.
    Emergency Fund - £8572.39 / £10,000 :: Mortgage OP 2025 - £
    LISA 24/25 - £3200 / £4000 :: NSD 2025 - 2 / 150 :: Books Read: 1 / 52 :: Decluttering - 4 / 1000

    Big hugs to you and all the teachers, because it's a wonder there are any left!

    Agree with this completely! I'm sure you're doing way better than you think you are, Tete. Not that it'll make how you're feeling any better :(

    And that must have been a scary week for you, CMD. Relieved to hear he's doing better now :) Must be a small relief!

    I bet you'll feel a whole lot better once that whack has been taken off the debt, Dinah. Awesome news about the tax credits too, that will be a massive help :money:

    I'm in for the declutter! Being the sparkling wild child that I am, I did actually clean my fridge out yesterday. Was spending all afternoon in the kitchen (accidentally watched 2 seasons of IT crowd on Netflix :cool:) and I get all muddled up with myself if the fridge isn't in order for a baking session!

    ETA: Although it's my Mum's birthday today, so I won't be able to clean the pantry today. But I did only reorganise it a few weeks ago so I'll just give it a quick once over. Make sure everything's still in it's place!

    Sorry to hear about your Dad CMD. Glad he's on the mend and that it wasn't worse. Strokes are so scary :(

    Sorry you're having such a tough time Tete. :( At least you know we're all here to vent to if/when you need it. We should have a proper meet up again soon to cheer you up! :) By the way, I've been trying in vain to learn to crochet and it's so hard! I have so much more respect for the fab things you've created now that I've realised just how much I suck at it! It's the counting... I lose focus for 1 minute and the whole thing's gone to pot! I was attempting a circle yesterday and it ended up worryingly square! :p I may just stick to papercraft! :o

    Decluttering challenge sounds good. I have a lot to get rid of (again!). I did a bag a day/30 bags in 30 days challenge a while back and it was a really good motivator! Got a lot of the boy's clothes to pack away/donate as he's finally having a growth spurt and growing out of things now, the only issue is that I only get time to do it when he's asleep, but his clothes are in his room where he sleeps so I can't go in there! :) I need to sort my craft stuff again too. I've done a couple of craft afternoons at other people's houses so been pulling loads of things out to take with me and not putting it all back in the right place so my organised cupboard has gone to pot! At least with making my frames I'm finally getting through some of my stash, albeit slowly! :)

    That's a massive difference in tax credits Dinah! :T

    Grrr, some egit clearly heard about my wish to declutter and attempted to break into our house last night! So today has been spent with the police taking statements and dusting for prints etc. They only got into the conservatory, the inside door to the lounge was locked, and it doesn't look like anything was taken as all thats in there are Grace's toys, blinking scary though, I hate the idea of someone being in our house, especially when we were sleeping not 10m away.

    Oh my goodness that's so scary! Especially as you were actually in :( Hope you're not too shaken up xx

    CMD sorry to hear about your Dad - strokes are pretty terrifying as they seem to be so indiscriminate. Hope he's on the mend xx

  • Hi all, sorry I haven't been around for a while but my mam passed away. As you will probably all know she had vascular dementia but she was only ill for two todays. The money side of things has gone out the window. It has actually gotten a bit messy. We have gone over our overdraft simply by not checking and then jogging like we usually do. So I am going to spend the day on money, cleaning and marking so that less I feel like I am catching up. Off to do the fridge as I am a couple of days behind on the challenge.

    ROTE I'm so sorry to hear that, at times like this you really see your priorities and money isn't it. Hope you're coping okay, not that it's ever a time you can really be anything like okay x

    So so sorry, ROTE. Hope you're as well as you can be, and it's totally expected that money goes to the wayside at times like this. Sending you loads of hugs and good thoughts! xx

    Awful about the break in, Dinah. Relived to hear they didn't take anything, but it really does leave an uncomfortable feeling in the place doesn't it? My Grandparents were broken into and it took my Grandma ages to feel like her house was home again.. if that makes sense?!

    Gorgeous rainy autumnal day here today :) Had Ryder out with torches first thing, the air definitely had "that" smell to it! :j Have to admit I've had a pumpkin spice overload already, but I can't stop.

    So sorry about your Mum ROTE. :(

    That's so scary about the break in Dinah! Glad they didn't get any further than the conservatory and nothing was taken.

    Hope everyone's OK. I'm at work again and wishing I could jack it all in and be a full time crafty mum! :o I'm sure everyone else in the office feels that way too so I just need to suck it up and get on with it! :p Went to a papercraft fair on Saturday and spent way too much as usual but it's all for my crafty business so should be able to get it paid back eventually. :) Just need to make some stuff to sell! Doing a craft fair on the 1st November and need to get a wiggle on making stuff to sell as thought I'd do some other bits on top of my frames to cash in on Christmas. :)

    Cinny- I'm waiting for my canned pumpkin to arrive so I can bake pumpkin cake! Yummy!!!! :D
