We've been busy here with JDIJ. I don't know if you all remember but we decided for JDIJ we were going to redecorate the dining room. Well.......... It's going to take a bit longer than planned I think. Ever since we moved in I've been complaining that previous occupiers had boarded up the alcoves in the dining room. I'd love to knock them back out but the ceiling is new so it would cost a fortune if we had to replace the ceiling too. So we dismissed the idea. Well while we were ripping the wallpaper off we noticed a tiny line running parallel to the ceiling about a foot lower down. When I thought about it I realised that in our front room the alcoves stop about a foot lower than the ceiling. This tiny crack in the plaster confirmed that the alcoves in the dining room did too so knocking them back out wouldn't affect the ceiling at all. So you can all guess what DH did on the weekend? Yep we now have two very large holes in our wall. We plan to get as much done in June as possible but now we are doing the alcoves as well I don't think we'll be done by the end of the month.
Hope you are not too bruised Dinah.

I hope the extra work doesn't take too long Star! I love a good alcove though, hopefully it'll look lovely once all finished! Although you may have to extend to Just Finish it July!

:rotfl::rotfl:JFIJ sounds about right :rotfl::rotfl: we are planning to put shelves and a small cupboard in the alcoves so I can display/store all my nice things (a vintage tea set, my cake stands, nice crockery etc) which means we can get rid of the sideboard we currently have, giving us more room in the dining room. (That's the plan anyway)Goals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2000
