Went sunbathing today in the back garden, Felt like people were watching me, I would have hid indoors but my partner said he would sit with me and no one would dare have a go.
My boyfriends been lovely but he is treating me like a china doll. Not even letting me make a cup of tea or anything.0 -
Gemma, I have just found your thread and can't believe the experience at your GP's! I found a lump on sat and had the panic and googled! I rang GP for an appointment today and got one for 10.50pm as it should be. Did you say your bf has complained about her?
I'm sitting here waiting to be seen by GP in an hour ish and trying to stay calm and this thread has helped. I am young (29) and statistics are in my favor. I read you went for test very quickly is that correct?0 -
I really hope your gp will put your mind at rest. Glad to hear you got an appointment so quickly. I went through it all around the same time than OP. Found a lump on a Wednesday as I went to bed. Rang practice, said there were no appointments available, but when I said what it was about, I was told to come and wait and I would see someone. Saw my own GP at 8:30, he told me he had to refer me urgently as it was standard practice for any lump found. Had a call from hospital at 12:30 and was given an appointment for 2 weeks later. I asked if there was any chance for something quicker, told no, so stated I would take any appointment if someone cancelled. 1 hour later, call from hospital again and was offered a date 5 days later.
Saw consultant, had hoped he would provide reassurance on the spot. Although he said he could be different things, he said that tests had to be done to rule out cancer. Was sent straight for mammogram after appointment and given date for ultrasound for 6 days later. This was last Monday and thank god, it turned out to be cysts. I received the letter today confirming that consultant had reviewed the results and confirmed that it was nothing to worry about.
It was the worse two weeks of my life but came out of it even more appreciative of my life0 -

Thank you so much for your kind words. After this experience, it makes you want to shout at everyone who moans about small matters! It is human nature though, and I was telling my kids off only a few days after finding all was fine! Still, it does make you realise how vital good health is and how it is probably the one thing we take most for granted.
Good luck a51_ufo, but try not to stress too much about it as much as it is possible. After I opened up to friends and colleagues about it, I couldn't believe how many told me that they'd been through the same thing. It is very common to find lumps and extremely rare for it to be anything to worry about at your age. I do hope you get as good NHS service as I have had so you can put it all behind you asap.0 -
Hi just got back and my GP is e-mailing the hospital and I have been told to ring for an appointment from 8.30 tomorrow for a series of scans. She said it is probably a cyst or a Fibroadenoma and the fact is moves slightly under the skin is a good sign it is nothing serious. It's long and flat with a knobbly bit on top! Standard practice to been seen within 2 weeks so not to worry I was being rushed through. Also confirmed what statistics I read and feel much better now. Though will no doubt start getting worried as my appointment gets closer ...0

Well that was quick - they phoned me and I'm going in for tests on Wednesday!0

Turned out is was a cyst and they drained it straight away for me - after they kept saying you're too young to have a cyst!0
