Felt awful today. Ended up staying in my bed till 1pm.
After a shaky start I got up and we made it to the shops to get DD's new bedding and paint to do the room. Spent £160 ish in total.
OH will start on the furniture tomorrow.
Dinner tonight was lovely clean plates all round :T
Tomorrow dinner is gammon, roast potatoes and veg. Thinking of doing a Victoria sponge and we can have that for afters but will see how I feel in the morning.
DD put a washing on for me but I will need to put it in the TD as the weather as not been very nice today
I really need to look at online banking as I haven't in ages, too frightened as I know I have spent too much over the last few weeks. I have money in savings to replace the over spend it's just I hate having to use savings:(0 -
Checked the bank :eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:
Sorted now but :( at the waste. Well onwards up upwards, will have wages soon coming in so not going to beat myself up too much.0 -
Just checked the gas and electric meters.
We used £43 in electric last month and £26 in Gas.
They are key cards for both as this is what was in the house before us. We could have changed to normal meters but the utility company wanted £150 to change it and when we leave here we would need to get it installed again.
I don't think the key cards are that much more expensive and I do like that I can see exactly what is being used.
We normally put in £50 on each, each month, so as we have some left over from last month I have taken £100 out the bank as normal and put £40 on Electric and £30 on Gas. That leaves £30 left of the £100. I will put this in an envelope in case we need to use it but if we get to next pay day without using it then I will put it in my savings jar.
If I do this each month the I should have a good amount put away for a rainy day0 -
Have put the gammon in the slow cooker for dinner tonight.
Need to peel the potatoes and the veg to go with it.
2nd load is in the washing machine and the 1st load is in the TD. Weather is awful here to so no chance to hang out.
Need to sort my clothes for work tomorrow. I really struggled last week doing my 2 days so hopefully it will be easier this way.
Need to put my ice pack in the freezer and make get my lunch sorted for tomorrow. Will make my wrap in the morning as I like them to be as fresh as possible. Will slice the tomotao, lettuce and grate the cheese tonight though so it's all ready to be put together in the morning.
OH has gone out to get bread and milk so will update grocery spend later.0 -
Well that's work over again this week :j Finished my training so next week I will be doing the job for real. I am working Wed/Thur next week. I have been given my shifts for the next 4 weeks. There will be the option to pick up other shifts to cover sick/holidays but for now I think I will stick to my 2 days.
DH has been cracking on with DD's room. It is getting there just very slowly. Have all the windows open as the smell of turps and paint is sticking in my throat, bit cold mind.
Need to get to the shop later to get a few items but so far have only spent whats in my signature on food.
DH did a job for friend and got £60 in cash for it so we might get a takeaway but will see.
House is a tip. I have so far done the dishes, hovered and wiped down the work surfaces.0 -
Spent £28.89 in FF. Lots of things bought for our 4th July treat tomorrow.
Every 4th July we have a day of treats. We have pancakes, scrambled eggs, bacon and hash browns for breakfast and dinner is hot dogs, !!!!!!s, BLT's and fries.
We make coke floats and have popcorn while watching a movie.
We have family in America and have been lucky to have spent 4th July a few times with them and the kids love it so I like to make a treat for them now and then and this doesn't cost the earth :T0 -
I have been thinking about money today.
I would ideally like to be able to save £600 a month now I am working. Not sure if I will manage that in July (even though I will have got paid) as school uniforms will need to be paid for.
So will need to get thinking and plan a budget and see if this is doable.0 -
DH is finishing off DD's room, it looks fab and all in all cost around £65 to do :j:j As all her wardrobes and cabinets were emptied nothing now is a good time to sort through her clothes and general junk. I can see many bags for the binmen next week.
I am still going through the mountains of paper work  getting there very very slowly.
Should be a NSD day today :j
It is rather dull and very windy today but I have a washing out but need to keep an eye it doesn't rain. Got another wash to do but might just TD that load.0 -
Has been a busy few days and expensive:(
Took the kids out for the day as they were climbing the walls .
Spent
£9.90 on bus
£31.06 on Lunch
£46.95 at the cinema :eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:
£5 on a swimsuit for DD (was needed though)
£10 on a chippie for dinner.
I am not going to total that up. I don't really mind treating the kids as we very rarely go to the cinema but it is just soooo expensive and of course they want to see the film in 3D so that adds to the expense.
Also the kids have eaten too much junk the last few days so going to make something for dinner with veg and fruit for desert.0 -
I had forgotten we had arranged to go to visit friends who have rented a cottage a few hours away from us. We will only need to pay for petrol to get there and food when we are there.
DH friends work as a travel agent and it seems DH has been asking about cheap holidays to spain in October. Friend has come up with an all inclusive deal for the 4 of us, 5* resort and decent flight times for just over £1K. DH really wants to go and I am very tempted even just so I get a week in the sun.
So will see lots to think about it. I think me now having a job DH feels we can live a bit.
So DD's room is done and I am really pleased looks very fresh and grown up. Now lets see if she can keep it tidy :cool:0
