Turned out a lovely day today, shame I was at work :(

Anyway DH was off today so he did a wash and hung it out.

    DH also did go shopping.

£24 in Asda (This did include a new cool bag and ice packs as our old ones were done)

    £6.49 in Lidl

£8.99 on a new gas canister for the soda stream.

Work again tomorrow for me :(:(:(.

    Hi Mara_uk7

Dinner was burgers that were in the freezer left over from our 4th July day.

Not sure what to have tomorrow but freezer is fairly full so will make do with what we have. Will see how I am when I get home.

Off to watch some tv before heading to bed not to sleep because it's too hot

Are you or your dh American? i ask cause you mention the 4th of July. I was just wondering cause I'm American :)

Ahh, you may have been at work but at least that means you're earning money! Sitting on your bum is a lot less fun when it means you're totally skint.

Hope the weather stays good to the weekend where you are.

No neither myself or DH are American. I have a lot of American relatives and since I was a wee girl I have spent many 4th of July's in the USA and I just love it so do the kids especially the fireworks.

You are absolutely correct and I am lucky to have found this job.

Just watching the programme on BBC 1 programme about workers and people on benefits there was a women who was a carer, worked 60hrs a week and takes home £1,300. I sit on my bum in my job, work 16 hrs a week and take home £600 a month. I take my hat off the that women such a hard job to do and I think they deserve far more money than what they get.

I think it is to get cooler here for the weekend but will still be nice. Hope the weather is fine with you.

Really tired tonight but in my joints, mind is wide awake so will be a while till I fall asleep.

Up early tomorrow taking the kids to a localish (is that a word?)farm. £42 for a family ticket  but there is a large play area and a picnic area so we wont be spending a penny except the £42 entry fee.

Sandwiches all made and new ice packs are freezing in the freezer, along with several bottles of water and kids drink pouches. Have crisps and cookies and some grapes to take as well so shouldn't need anything. Kids have been told they can have an ice cream when they get home (ice creams are £2.50 for the smallest cone of mr whippy you will ever see). I have cones, real 99 flakes (FF sell them in a box especially for cones) and of course ice cream :) and they can have a large on :T
  • Happy Friday! I've a shiny new name (was GetOutandOn).

Wow you're organised, with me it'd be a bag of quavers and half a bottle of warm flat coke. Hope you have a lovely time at the park bit  at the entrance fee though, but I suppose its the same everywhere now, I took my nieces and nephew to the Safari Park and it cost £120 to get us in.

    :wave:Happy Friday to you too.

I find if I am not organised then we end up spending £££££'s, couldn't afford to let that happen given how much it cost to get in. Kids had a ball, did spend £1.25 on animal feed to feed the animals though but that was all.

There is a safari park about and hour or so from us. Have never been though as the price is just too much :(

Well I am done in. Kids had a ball today and the weather was good.

Spent £42 on entry fee
    £1.25 on animal feed.

DH and the kids want to go out tomorrow but this time it will be a local park with no entry fee (just wont have all the attractions the one today had)

So will need to re freeze the ice packs and make another round of sandwiches.

Think we will need to get petrol though tomorrow so will need to spend on that.
  • As long as you had a good day and aren't struggling to pay the bills then you can enjoy the occasional treat.

The Safari Park was great but horrifyingly expensive, I was anticipating spending around £90 and ended up dropping over £200. Luckily the new rear wiper was cheap, it got ripped off in the Monkey enclosure. It was a great day otherwise but all my nieces had to say was 'Aunty Elphaba said a bad word' (Eldest Niece), she said s**t' (Youngest Niece). Cheers girls, luckily my brother was too busy wetting himself with laughter to be too annoyed at me corrupting them.

    I bet you'll sleep well tonight :).
