Nymphadora's getting sorted (at last)

Options
Hello

I have lurked on this site for over 5 years but this is my first post and diary.

Life is plodding along fairley well I think but it could be better. I have lots of plans floating about in my head and all to do with money so thought a diary here would help keep me on track.

I have a small amount of debt but it's managable and should be paid off in 6months. Due to a move to a new area a couple of years ago I came off the housing ladder and into a rented house. My family and I have now decided to settle in this area so I will need to start thinking about a deposit and getting a mortgage (easier said than done these days:()

I also need to shed about a stone and a half in weight but have an addiction to fizy juice and pickle onion monster munch so thats not going to be an easy task unless I can persuade every shop in a 5 mile radius to stop stocking those :rotfl:

I need to also start being more organised with meal planning, washing and ironing and keeping my paperwork in order as I know when I am organised I save money.

I also want to start being more frugal for example if something breaks can it be fixed. If I do need to buy something how cheap can I get it.

It would be great if anyone reading had any tips they could pass on about getting organised or losing weight.

Will be back tomorrow with a proper plan of action but it feels great to have finally started my journey to getting sorted :)

    Morning

Well looks like it could be a nice day. At some point today I am going to check through my debt and see where I am at and how much is left. Plan of action for today is:
    • Withdraw £200 from bank for food shopping (should last us 3 weeks)
    • Walk to open day kids want to go to (save petrol :money: and should help with the weight loss)
    • Do meal plan for the week
    • Do food shoppinght
    • Hang washing out (save on the elec :money:)
    • Check gas and electric meters.
Right best get a move on.

Well best laid plans and all that.

Day started off well, went to open day and walked. Spent £2 on stall for the kids. Bumped into a friend and all my good plans went out the window. We were invited to theirs for the afternoon for pizza and drink.

Went via the shops to bring some juice for the kids. Spent £4.14 in FarmF and £11.45 in lidl. To be fair the lidl spends were items for the house I needed (washing powder, loo roll etc).

Just home from friends very stuffed and a bit woozy from wine but kids and I had a great time but I got nothing else done on my list :(

    Lovely sunny day today.

So far I have one wash hanging outside and another in the washing machine.

Kitchen has been cleaned and we have just enjoyed lunch outside :)

Plan for the rest of the day
    • Tidy living room
    • Sort kids clothes and bag for school
    • make a shopping list and meal plan for this week.
Don't want to add anymore for now as I am easily distracted like yesterday :rotfl:

Should be a NSD but depends on what the kids take for lunches tomorrow as I am low on ham.

Right off to do some more work.

    Been busy.

Shopping list done and meal plan done.

I managed to get half the 2nd load on the washing line and the ironing from the 1st load of washing done.

I have also made a pot of veg soup.

Dinner is a mix of different things as the fridg/freezer is low on food till I shop tomorrow.

Right shopping list done and splitting my shopping between Lidl, FF and Asda I should save £4.53 bringing my planned shopping to £43.00 exactly.

I have printed off the list from mysupermarket using Asda so have the prices in asda for all the items. I will start at Lidl and check the prices off and if an item is cheaper in Lidl then I will pick it up.

I am really lucky to have all the big supermarkets and lidl and FF very close to me so wont waste petrol running between them all.

Dinner tonight is home made soup followed by 1 chicken meal, 1 meal with tuna and rice and 2 macaroni cheese.

Shopping done. Didn't manage to get 2 items but these are not needed till Thursday. Did add 2 items though not on my list but this is because I forgot to add them rather than being an impulse buy.

So shopping came to £42.08 :j:j:j:j

Dinner tonight is home made steak pie. Stewing beef is in the slow cooker and will make it with roast potatoes and veg.

Not much else planned for today as I am v v tired, the joy of having fibro :(

Not doing very well with this diary am I?

Need to stay focused. I have been spending money I do not have and account is £800 OD:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:

The good news is a I went for an interview on Friday and I got the job. I gave up working a year ago because of my health. I didn't claim anything as it was my choice completely and if push came to shove I could have stayed on but OH and I agreed we could just about afford me not to work and see if I could get my health back on track.

So as of next week I will be working 2 days a week. So will really need to be organised.

House is a bit of a state. I had been worked up about my interview and not been sleeping so my Fibro is really bad at the moment. But now I have the job I will hopefully sleep well tonight.

So first things first I want to list my debt so I now what's what.

Then I will move onto sorting the house.

Right off to look out my paperwork will be back in a moment.

Have been sorting through my old work clothes to see if I need anything and apart from some new shoes I should be okay for a while :j

Will need a proper pair of winter boots and coat but don't have to think about that for a while.

So dinner was omelette, ham and beans. Cupboards are very bare so a trip to the shops will be needed but will try and spend very little.

Need to do a spreadsheet to see how I can pay the debt off in 6 months but will do that tomorrow as I am absolutely knackered today. Will be putting my feet up in front of the tv tonight :)

    Didn't get on here yesterday.

Got my food shopping done. Sadly was very hungry when I did it so spent more than I should have.

It is very warm here today but clouded. I have one wash on the line and the kids bedding is in the WM.

Dinner was to be stewed beef but I didn't notice I had no beef stock cubes so will have something else tonight just not sure what.

Will make HM soup. My DD loves veg soup and recently she has been having too many treats (end of primary school for her so lots of party's) so have been upping her fruit intake and trying to get more veg in her.

Right off to do soup, be back soon.
