  • Ive made an online application to them this week.... before reading this thread! (must start using MSE more!)

    Arghhhh!!
  • I work for Sensee and I've found them excellent. I recommend them if you want to work from home. As long as you're dedicated and organised, then I think that you're on to a winner.
  • PLEASE stay well clear of this company! I had worked for them for just under a month. It was a complete joke! I am a competent, well educated person who just wanted to try something new - the thought of working in you PJs sounded too good to be true, at it was.

I read the responses on this thread before starting employment and thought it couldn't be that bad, these people must be drama queens! Well I apologise for that and completely sympathise with you.

I've just joined the forum so I can get this off my back and warn others of this company!

Where do I start? Getting into the company is harder than getting into Mi5. The training, it was more like technical issue after technical issue so very little training was actually done. The systems they use are complicated and constantly break down. When they broke down the blame was placed on the new employees. We were riddled with problems for the whole two weeks. Threats, underhanded comments and nasty comments were made to the group every single day. "I'm not going to beat around the bush but if you crap in your first week, you are out!" We had a complete Hitler type person training our group. If this sort of thing happened in a real work place the person would face disciplinary and quite frankly wouldn't be surprised if someone slapped her!

Singling people out from the group, literally picking on them and making them feel bad. You were told off if you were asked questions. I was one of the lucky ones, none of this happened to me because I'm quite technically savvy and had a varied background in work so could pick things up quickly without being guided.

It was literally threat after threat, it was harsh and felt quite brutal! There were so many brown nosers in the company it was difficult to keep my mouth zipped! The managers favoured these people. There were 10 Live desk workers managers on at a time but only one working at a time helping with 40 employees at a time with questions and help slow to come - it was very difficult. You regularly run over your shift and were not paid for it. One girl said something about it then we all received an email to watch our attitudes - I could not believe it!

Booking hours is well just crazy, it's a free for all and you can end up working 7 days a week if you were on a 40 hour contract like me. You would work 6 hour shifts without even being able to breathe. If you had kind of technical issues you would loose out on money. There is so much software on the contract I was on something didn't work every time, it kept going down and ran so slowly even though I have a top of the range, fully kitted out gaming machine (that I made myself - so have a good grasp on computers)

All this and then they told us we were all going to be moving to another contract after a month! So training again at a reduced numbers of hours so we would be loosing out. Seriously could not cope with it anymore, I have a high threshold for BS but this was a complete joke! If you don't like being talked too like you are a preschooler please avoid this place.
  • This is THE worst company I have ever worked for in my life. I have always worked in customer service so I know the training can be quite complex but this was a joke from start to finish. We had 3 weeks to learn a full business and once finished we started working for the client. This proved to be impossible as it turned out the training was very much outdated. They blamed the client for this and it was impossible for us to service. We all had constant stress over this as you can imagine. Not only that but we were ridiculed in front of everyone with sarcastic answers when we asked a question, which was a lot as the training materials were outdated. We were made to feel so bad and like we were all stupid for a long time until they finally realised that they hadn't even given us the correct systems to use. A couple of the girls actually broke down in tears over all this. Honestly, it sounds daft but it caused so much anxiety you wouldn't believe. We were given an apology eventually but still continued to lose bonus's and money for getting marked down for things we actually had from the company themselves on our manuals and they would say "Oh sorry, that's outdated" and we would still lose our bonus. Holiday booking was ridiculous, you book one day and they give you the whole week, or you book a week and they give you the wrong week then call you a liar which is impossible because you actually type in the box the date you want and how long for. This happened 3 times. I don't usually write on forums but I had to sign up so people are aware of exactly what they are getting into. If you enjoy being belittled, made to feel inadequate, even after years of call centre experience, like being made to take holidays you didn't ask for, pay deducted due to out of date training so you can't properly service the client which is a very busy and well known company and you get a kick out of extreme anxiety and panic attacks, this is for you. If you want to keep your sanity, try elsewhere. There are plenty of decent home working jobs. Try reed and other jobsites. I had to say this because I feel that some people writing decent reviews may be from the company itself. Just a heads up.
  • Seems to be a few nay-sayers all jumping on the Bandwagon.

This company is a legitimate working company, holding many major clients.
The pay is above minimum wage by a couple of pounds and yes the hours are flexible, which you book in yourself.

Yes, it is hard to get into. As there are no face to face interviews, the process is perhaps a little more stringent than other call centres...afterall, there is no face to face tell tale signs to help decide who to employ or who not to.
They require all members to have a good grasp of English, spoken and written and they do require assessment tests in these areas.

Once employed, you work from the comfort of your own home. Sure, you have to pay your own electricity bills or heating bills, but you aren't paying for commuting to work so it kind of balances that out.

No going out in the rain, or travelling on a bus for an hour.
Yes, your wages will be docked if you are late. And why shouldn't they be? I have never worked anywhere where I can be late and not be docked.
If you are on a call at your finish time, then yes, you have to finish the call. Most jobs are like that. More often than not, you're finished within 5 minutes but if you do go over a bit longer then yes, you do get paid extra for it.
You do get paid for personal breaks, so again, it all balances out.

Training is usually straight forward although some people do have system problems. Most of the time, these problems are due to individual employees' computers and their compatibilities with things like firewalls etc.

As with many employment situations, you get good workers and bad workers, those who let everyone else know how 'put out' they are and those who don't. Those who knuckle down to learn and work and those who want to slack. Those who resent what they perceive others to get, and those who congratulate it.

You can't please all the people all of the time.

The best advice I can give to anyone who would like to work from Home with a pay check is to apply and see if it is suitable for your needs and don't allow bad feedback from disgruntled ex-employees put you off.

You never know, it might be the best decision you ever make.

It doesn't make you or Sensee look any more credible when you come on here after a couple of bad reviews trying to diminish the input of the posters.

If someone thinks Sensee is a rubbish firm to work for they are entitled to say that without being dismissed as a naysayer, slacker or someone with computer issues. You don't know anyone on here or their work ethic, experience or capabilities.

Sensee - a rubbish firm that tries to cover up by rubbishing ex-employees, and like hadtojoin above, I too suspect that they employ shills for the purpose of reputation enhancement, since there seems to always be someone that comes along to imply that posters who had a problem with this company are somehow at fault.

Everyone's experience with Sensee depends on the contract they were on, and some of their clients really are awful to work for.
  • This company is horrendous. Get spoken to like a 5 year old, impossible targets. Management disappear when a customer wants to speak to a manager or they will outright say that there is nothing they can do that you cant. Erm, try telling that to a customer, it goes down like a lead balloon and they start demanding you put them through, but your not allowed to...ever. As someone above said, they blame the client for everything saying its not our fault. Don't get me wrong, they do pay and always on time but it really is horrible. They put so much pressure on you and training is more or less non existent. 2 weeks and half of that is spent telling you how Sensee came about, which you obviously need to know but the important stuff is all rushed. I guarantee that if you start this and begin to service a client you wont know what you are doing. You will learn on the job though, by asking millions of questions and waiting about ten minutes for a response as there is about 17 other people all asking questions the same time as you, all the while having a screaming customer on the phone who is already fuming as the last person they spoke to didn't know what they were doing. Had this so many times on each client its unreal. Half the time you feel like your losing it. I have worked in 4 different call centres over the years and was also a team leader in one job so I thought doing the same from home would be a blessing in disguise. Feel a bit like I was conned and anyone above you makes you feel incompetent. My colleagues feel the same and they did on the other account too. This company must have quite a large staff turnover and people leaving a lot because they always advertise for the same company's and often. A poster above said its over minimum wage but both my contracts were minimum wage so maybe there is one good contract that I'm not aware of. Booking hours is obscene, I have never done a shift were it was in a real block, its always 2 hours here, maybe in the morning, then an hour at 12, then 2 at 3pm, half an hour at 7pm etc You have no life. Everyone books at the same time too so half the time you book hours, and they split up all over the place and you have to do them like that. There are also so many system issues and you get blamed for it. Even when about 5 of you are getting the exact same issue at the same time. Its a very nerve wracking place to work, your on pins all the time. Pros are that they pay and its not self employed and you get holiday pay usually for days you didn't even book and are sometimes forced to take holidays that you don't want, oh and they can and do change your shifts to suit themselves and if you say I'm really sorry but I have a doctors appointment that day, that's why I didn't book, they start threatening you with the contract, saying that you agreed to them changing you to suit client needs and then will take ages to reply to customer queries to punish you for daring to have a doctors appointment which means more nerve wracking time spent with a customer with no answer from team leaders. I understand that client needs must come first but you need warning not to be told the day before.

Having been offered a job through these clowns, they are horrendous.

Zero support, not even close to the job I applied for, horrible managers, impossible workload, split shifts and unbearable pressure/stress.

Just steer well clear unless you want that kind of abuse on a daily basis; you can do better without being pushed to the point of mental breakdown.

So how can you make sweeping generalisations based on zero personal experience of a company, and dismiss others who have worked for them?
