I take it you've never dealt with SP customer service? Why don't you phone or message them and ask if they would pair it for you if you bought it? Then you'll have your answer.carl.waring said:

I have dealt with them before and, whilst it's not always been as smooth as it could have been, they've done okay. 🤷♂️
It was only an idea. As I said, I'm not that desperate.

Sorry if this is covered above. Which suppliers let customers with a smets 2 smart meter switch onto an E7 tariff? ThanksI think....0

I’m currently trying to go through this process with Octopus, I assume they would be capable of such a change with their reputation for offering far more advanced smart functionality.michaels said:Sorry if this is covered above. ThanksHaven’t got a definite answer one way or the other yet, but they did seem to indicate they would make the switch and are “looking into” it now. Although at present they seem to be either slightly confused or are stalling for time with odd questions. Results may differ if you contact by phone/social media rather than email though.
Will update once I get some actual confirmation out of them.Moo…1 -
Always use the ability to pre-set washing machine and dishwasher to come on overnight. I am a bit cautious about having things running (minor fire risk - but make sure your smoke detectors are working and then relax) so I set them to finish about half an hour before the end of the Econ7 period, ie they run between around 4am and 7am. This is especially beneficial if you need to you run ‘intensive’ or hot cycle. Also charge up iPads and mobiles etc over night.0

If you are an early riser, ie before the switch-over time, boil a full kettle and fill one or two flasks. If you drink coffee, that will be hot enough for all day, but for tea drinkers, you will only need to reboil a mug full for a few seconds for a good brew!0

Is it possible to switch to a single rate for a few months and then switch back to E7? I guess not
There are 10 types of people in this world. Those who understand binary and those that don't.0 -
It is certainly possible (ie can be done) with a Smart Meter. Whether your supplier will let you is another matter. It's always worth asking.0

I think it was only British Gas that had an issue with smart meters and E7. I can confirm that E7 works fine with my EDF smart meterprccbc said:Hi this has not been used for some time!British Gas is offering smart v2 with a 2 rate tariff is this correct as i was told i could not have a smart meter before.I asked them and they said yes but the smart meters with this function are not available yet.
