I work in T on self serve. It doesn't happen very often anymore now people are more used to self service but when it does we chase the customer and give it back probably 50% of the time we manage to do this. The other times we log which till and time. If no one has used the till since I print last receipt to get customers details. If they have used a club card we can easily get their details to contact them. Obviously these are office tasks so I do not see this done. Certainly though if a customer comes back after they realise and it has been logged they will be given the money back.

but equally why should you profit? The same dodgy moral ground.
    1. You are not the one responsible for installing the change outlet in an odd place where people don't think to look. I don't think a store should _ever_ benefit from their own mistakes.

    2. It might be you next time who leaves your change there, so it all works out even in the end. It will never be the store who leaves their change there next time.

Since last October I have found notes in the SSCs no less than 5 times and before then, from the time they were installed, about the same again. And I am only one customer.

My store has has self service for 6+ years most customers are competent on them now. The majority of those that leave change on my shift have had a drink.

I hate it when the red light is flashing, and the assistant is either in a day dream or chatting.

Also, stop piling the baskets up by the till and put them by the door, no thats too much to ask, not your job is it, you have to wait for the man in the high vis to collect them, which he probably does twice aday inbetween about 30 smoke breaks.

Tesco staff never go out of there way to do anything they stick rigidly to there contract. LAZY.

If that is your experience then complain to your store manager or head office. Please don't generalise to all the staff in the company.

Maybe that says more about you than the thousands of individual staff members at Tesco.
