Year round, sweet potatoes (baked, then inside scooped out, mixed with cream cheese and bacon bits and put back in the skins) but at the moment, asparagus! Have just discovered it and found the best way to cook it is half steaming it first, then wrapping 3 or 4 stalks in proscuttio or serrano ham, and dry frying them until the cured meat has browned... yum I want some now!0

BROCCOLI!!!! :j Especially purple srpouting broccoli. The healthiest vegetable on the planet.
I just boil it lightly then dress it with a bit of extra virgin olive oil, some LoSalt, and a good sprinkling of parmesan. Served with meat or egg or anything you like.Be careful who you open up to. Today it's ears, tomorrow it's mouth.0 -
Quite a difficult one as I love most veg. For me it would probably have to be peppers and in any colour. Best when they're eaten raw but I'd put them in just about anything if they weren't so expensive, should have an abundance of them in the greenhouse this year though.0

I like most veg but hate celery. We have cucumber most days at lunch time and i have a tendency to put mushrooms in nearly everything!!Murphy's No More Pies Club Member No. 680

corn on the cob, Joel is also mad on it, brocolli or sweet potato, my boys will only eat mash if it has a sweet potato mashed in with it

sprouts,cabbage,parsnips and cauliflower.

Small white button mushrooms eaten raw. Fantastic. I often buy the big flat 'field mushrooms' for cooking but I can never resist a bag of the small white button ones just for snacking on(when wiped first of course).
There's a 'Pick Your Own' farm a mile away from us and they have asparagus. Have never bought it because I'm not sure what to do with:o it apart from steaming and dipping in melted butter(as I had it at SIL's a couple of times). Any good ideas from you asparagus fans?0 -
Impomdasp - in my opinion, steaming and dipping into either melted butter or mayonnaise IS the best way of eating asparagus!
Having said that, it can also make a pretty sumptuous soup, perfect for a summer lunchtime, out in the sun, with french bread and a plate of cool, salady bits to nibble on afterwards.0 -
Brussel sprouts (I don't know why the get such a bad rep they are gorgeous) and I don't like too much done too them, just lightly cooked. They still need to have a bite to them and I love them cold so I always make too many so there are leftovers in the fridge. I think I prefer the leftovers to that actual meal at Christmas.
And I love parsnips, roasted or in soup.
And baked sweet potatoes or made into wedges.
I love broccoli in a stir fry too. That has got to be DH fave veg.
Actually we just love veg. I am not overly keen on courgette though as I find it bitter altough I still buy it as I want to like it (had some in Italy that was gorgeous and I want to recreate it) and aubergines I can be funny with but I love them in baba ganoush0 -
fresh garden peas raw in salads and sweetcorn....on the cob, baby or frozen absolutly love it0
