If you're about to make a major application it doesn't hurt to have constant access to make sure everything is in order.
Or in my case, I recently signed up for free trials with equifax and experian and found a long line of incorrect missed payment markers spanning back 18 months. Complained to the bank, got them removed and got compensation by way of apology. It was good to have access so I could actually see they had been removed. What will your verse be?

Free trials are one thing
They are free, so its a good thing,
If you make a mortgage app you dont need constant access, just a quick check before you apply and thats itProud to be a member of the Anti Enforcement Hobbyist Gang.:D:T0 -

Consumer credit reports are a by product of the loose lending made by financial institutions over a number of years. Given another decade the fad will pass.0 -
I pay for mine. As I want to know everything is fine. There is no errors, negative information or ID fraud. As any adverse credit history would cause me a whole heap of poop. Peace of mind.0

Good point. Having 24/7 access to your credit file is an unneeded obsession.....Proud to be a member of the Anti Enforcement Hobbyist Gang.:D:T0 -

Yes! As I am a bit OCD. I just want to be able to check as and when I feel like really with the click of a button.0
