  • So how can looking at a report instantly help you any differently then waiting for a cheap one in the post.

Like I said its an obsession. What would u have done if it was 1995?

Conversely I'll ask, why wait when you can have it instantly? We live in a digital age where most things can be done via the internet. What is the point in waiting a few days when you could have it straight away?

Why at a highly stressful time in my live would I not go for the instant option rather than worrying and fretting whilst waiting for the paper version to arrive, (sometimes I needed to look at the reports alot) because i have heard through the grape vine that the Ex has done something totally daft with money AGAIN...... its not an obsession, its peace of mind, especially when the issues are potentially not in your control it s not like the difference is between £2 and £200............

In 1995 I was about 18........ didnt know credit reports existed, and erm mine would have said naff all!!

Last time I wanted my £2 reports I did it online, paid £2 and had instant online access to the report.

If there was a problem ie a break up etc as people above have said I would get a report, report any changes if needed then get another report a month later, if paranoid just get a £2 report monthly, still cheaper than £6/£15 a month and is exactly the same but without a score from somebody who is never going to lend you money.

  • I wouldn't say I'm obsessed, but I do like to check up on my credit report every few months, especially since I'm trying to get out of debt. I get access to Experian as part of my bank account benefits but it doesn't tell me my score, just the important stuff.

When we were applying for a mortgage last year, my oh and I both paid a month's subscription to Experian to see our reports, before I was aware how little the actual score means.

I definitely like having instant access, waiting for anything in the post is frustrating for me. That said, I wouldn't pay monthly for it if it didn't come with my bank account benefits.

I've never paid for a credit report. But then I use Noodle, who, incidentally, are far more accurate and detailed than any of the others you might have tried.

Oh, and did I mention that Noodle are free?

Noddle is not more detailed. They do not provide any of the extended information that some credit card providers use, though they used to.
