Beans on toast for dinner tonight, and very nice it was too.
I was planning on making a quiche tonight and meat pie tomorrow.
My pastry was a spectacular failure so I went out to buy some - I bought 1Kg frozen pastry for £2.50. The problem is it takes ages to defrost and we wouldn't be eating until after 10:00pm - hence beans on toast.
Quiche will now be Monday night with meat pie still programmed for tomorrow.
I must have beans on toast more often, I'd forgotten how nice they could be

Hi Joanne, I've just logged on to update my balances and noticed you owe about £200 less than me :D Not sure that's a good thing though seeing how much it is!!!

Good luck with your diary, I'll pop by next time I'm here and see who's winning but I doubt it will be me!

PS... beans on toast is my absolute favourite food. If it was just me to feed I would eat this every day!

I've not had it for years, I think it may be a more frequent meal around here.
Unfortunately the after effects of that and the All Bran I had for breakfast is not appreciated by my family :D:D

I've decided to add my "offering"onto the GC so have updated my signature with that.

This is going to be a sticky month and may show very little (if any) reduction in debt.
Car tax £490 and insurance £380 - DH has a Shogun and it's mega tax!
I have a bit of a dilemma about 1 cc debt which is 3.4% LOB and around £6,700 outstanding.
That's about 2% less than the mortgage so I won't be tackling that until after the mortgage is cleared, in the meantime, I'll continue to pay the minimum
Should I therefore remove that from my outstanding debt before tackling mortgage?

H/M meat pie today with carrots.
We went out for a long bike ride this afternoon, out for over 2 hours and boy can I feel it.
One of the children said she likes being out with her family:j

Another AF day today so a few bob saved. I'm moving £1 onto my online ISA for each AF day and after payday on 15th I will be moving a further £1 onto my M and S card for each AF day.
I plan to use any money saved by October for a nice meal out for the whole family on my birthday:j
That will be a first - going out for dinner and not using a cc;)

Back to work tomorrow and not really looking forward to it, on the other hand I've had many worse jobs so mustn't grumble.

Inset day today so DH at home with little 'uns. I'm back at work.
£19.90 spent on stuff for packed lunches. Hopefully the kids won't eat it all as soon as I get in tonight!

Sounds like you're doing really well, especially with the no-alcohol decision. My DH has issues with this - while he doesn't drink loads at all, a couple of beers each night soon adds up. He's on his own 'stop drinking' mission at the moment, which is kinda going ok, and i think he is starting to feel better for it

I love beans on toast too! Even better with cheese melted on top & a splash of worcester sauce...

Keep going with those mini-payments - what's the saying 'Every penny counts....?' where have I heard that before...?!

I certainly feel better for knocking off the booze - aiming for 29 AF days this month. The only day I plan to drink is 21st when a friend is dropping down to see me.

Once I get the sleeping sorted I'll have cracked it (10 years + of a of wine bottle a day plays havoc with the sleeping pattern!)

Tell me about it :( DH also suffers with insomnia & takes medication to help. He told me at the weekend that he had tripled his dose since stopping drinking! Aaargh! I understand why but he does behave like a muppet! Anyway, he has said he'll go to the doctors this week to discuss...

My advice would be have good sleep hygiene - carry out the same routine every night, don't sleep at all during the day (chance would be a fine thing!) and avoid all stimulants after lunchtime :rotfl:
