Fined For Throwing Apple Core

Stop all being such holier-than-thou pedantic bastas!
She chucked an apple core into the verge. A bird or small animal would be very grateful. It's much better to get the most out of every bit of food.
Is it littering if apples fall naturally from trees onto pavements? Is it littering to chuck bread into a pond to feed some ducks? What about those pesky trees in the autumn, should we chop them all down because they shed their leaves?
As long as there was no chance of hitting other cars or pedestrians she did nothing wrong. And I'm sure she's a much better driver that all of you retards driving at 30mph with tunnel vision.
Basically, the fine is a joke.0 -
And she's not being prosecuted for dangerous driving, or driving without due care. Just for littering. So, the arguments about hitting other drivers/cyclists are irrelevant.0

I think you are rather missing the point - she is lucky that she is not facing a fine for careless driving. If she was eating an apple that means she had one hand on the wheel most of the time, whilst driving on a fairly fast road. She then wound down the window and threw the core out. How on earth can argue the point that she was not paying proper attention to the road is beyond me! How did she know it would not cause a problem to anyone else when she lobbed it out of the car seeing as she was obviously not giving her driving her full attention in the first place.0 -
I agree.
I think tr3mor is completely and wholeheartedly wrong.
Yes, tr3mor is incorrect.0 -

Clearly you missed the articles last year when council workers went to remove the "health and safety hazard" that are conkers from all the trees.
Anyway, the thing about littering is that it's one of those crimes where people seem to think that they've got a good reason for it.
Fact of the matter is that the law doesn't say
"no littering unless it's one of:
a number of crisps less than five,
biodegradable,
a cigarette butt,
gum that's lost it's taste,
'just a one off',
a sweety wrapper, but I saw a friend and needed to go say hello!
etc etc etc"
Such a law would be rather stupid and hard to enforce...that being the case, the rule was made simple...you just don't drop litter...
She broke the rule, got caught, got fined...
I'd be inclined to pay the fine and be thankful they haven't mentioned anything about dangerous driving...0 -
She got caught breaking the law. As ever, I bet she didnt even give it a second thought as she chucked it out of the window - bet she never thought im going to get fined for this.
In fact, dare i say it I bet she does this sort of thing all the time.
All food is bioldegradable, shall I turn out a curry onto the pavement? What about an old kebab? the contents of my kitchen bin? Im sure some "animal" will be thrilled with the contents, animals such as rats and other vermin.
Its just such awful behaviour to throw rotting food into public spaces. I cant get my head around why anyone would do it its so rabid. Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -

Dropping litter is only an offence because it's matter of public policy - when Moses came down from the Mount with the Ten Commandments, it didnt include 'Thou shalt not litter', but it did include 'Thou shalt not steal'; however it seems people who litter are now considered as bad as a shop-lifters in the eyes of the law - indeed it is possible to be more severely punished for a simple case of littering than it is for theft. The law is an !!!."You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0

Shop lifters have yet to throw fag ash in my eye, dump a plastic bag out of the window so it blows across my visor, or dump rubbish in the road so I either get a puncture or crash.0
