- I am quite clear about this. If the employer writes to me with anything relating to the work I do, it is internal.
- If he writes relating to my contract of employment it is external
And I don't deny that may be the case for you. However, as you yourself said, you cannot generalise.
I cannot place disciplinary information about myself into the public domain during the course of an investigation as part of the disciplinary process. Regardless of your view on what is internal or external, at the disciplinary stage we are discussing, the employer regards such correspondence as internal as stated in their employee handbook which forms part of my contract of employment. They are legally permitted to do this.
Morrisons may not do this; don't know, never worked for them - but other companies certainly do.
As the vast majority of my work is performed at home, the majority of what I do is either at home or on a secure server that I can access from home. The vast majority of non-electronic correspondence from my employer to me is sent to my address and it is all regarded as internal.0 -

This is why this policy exist it not there to be difficult it's there to protect the public. Same reason why they have a nail polish/fake nail ban. They do allow poppies to displayed at the usually time of year but not with pins Morrison is simple following common sense.
And Austin works in food prep! He is an idiot, plain and simple. While looks can be deceiving he does look like a surly type who doesn't take instruction well (taking instruction part seems a given by his actions).
From the Huffington Post storyBut he added the company had reviewed its guidelines to allow staff in non-food preparation areas to wear a registered charity wristband.
But how this applies to Mr Austin is unclear at present, as he is employed in a fresh food preparation area as well as at the checkouts.====0 -
All this sxxt goes on in supermarkets - this is why I bake my own bread.0

Obviously a person who may or may not wash his hands after a "comfort" break and may well use his "donger" to form doughnuts.

"Part P" is not, and has never been, an accredited electrical qualification. It is a Building Regulation. No one can be "Part P qualified."

Edit:- Anyone see the papers having a bleeding heart story about persecuted for showing support for "our boys" in the near future?
It's almost like i can predict the future...

Sadly, good and shocking news is not always accurately presented.0

Just to close this off.

Re-instated and Morrisons backs down after "concern from customers".
I'm not sure it'll do his long term prospects mind you...0 -
Whilst I agree that the UK needs to show support with regards to the awful atrocity in woolwich; the endless blame needs to stop now. The radicals picked on a military person as he was a symbol and pride of Britain and they knew they would get mass media coverage for doing so which in turn incited racial hatred. By all means show solidarity but if a company asks you to remove something due to their dress code then respect it. People can show their respects to the fallen in many ways but again this news about morrisons asking a colleague to follow the company dress code has stirred up all the racial hatred again.
RIP Lee Rigby; but people do need to take a step back and look at the bigger picture and stop with the blame culture.0
