It doesn't , and asda does the same thing through subsideiries of Walmart . If highview are there in general it's their own land, if its a standalone store its normally their land.
When posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.
We don't need the following to help you.
Name, Address, PCN Number, Exact Date Of Incident, Date On Invoice, Reg Number, Vehicle Picture, The Time You Entered & Left Car Park, Or The Amount of Time You Overstayed.

Please don't pay this, the parking gimp has obviously observed you with a wheelchair, so quite clearly you under the Equality Act are allowed to use these bays.

It's always best to start your own thread though so we can tailer the advice, can you tell us if you are in England or Wales in that thread - thanks

On the subject of whether or not Tesco own the land, I'd just like to say that it is entirely possible that Tesco staff are telling the truth when they say they don't own it - in the sense that Tesco Stores Limited (the company that employs the staff and operates the stores) may well not actually own the land. As I recall, Tesco plc holds its UK property assets through a byzantine network of LLPs, offshore trusts, and the like, so its very probable that somebody other than Tesco Stores Limited is the legal owner of the land.

I don't know whether this matters one iota as regards parking 'fines'. I suspect not, but you never know.

And you think the average Tesco employee knows all about the various corporate ownerships?
Same could be levelled at most employees at any company.
  • Hi, guys.

I received a Parking Charge from Highview Parking for overstaying in a retail park in watford. I wasn't the driver and challenged it. They replied asking driver's details.
I haven't given details, but told them driver was a visitor from Europe and was not aware of parking limit. I said I think the charge was excessive and insisted on cancelling or POPLA verification code for independent appeal.

    Any wisdom out there?
    Anybody had a similar case?

Please start your own thread - Hijacking another only confuses people and will not get you the best current advice.

You just click one click, on the breadcrumb trail, to take you back a step to the forum this little ol' thread sits on. Same with any forum, never stay on a random thread you find (unless it's a general discussion which this isn't), go to the actual forum board and read the sticky info threads at the top first. Then start your own thread there.

See my signature which explains where to click, where the breadcrumb trail is hidden!
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
CLICK at the top or bottom of any page where it says:
Home»Motoring»Parking Tickets Fines & Parking - read the NEWBIES THREAD

    Thank you. Done it!
  • I totally ignored a Tesco/Highview letter last year and haven't heard a thing - not even a second threatogram - am a bit disappointed really!!

I know this post is a bit old. ( ._.) Did you park in that tesco after?
  • I got a parking ticket from them on behalf of TESCO. It was for £250.000.000.00. It was classed as 'commercial necessity' .
