This morning I have paid off my Orange contract to the tune of £247 as I had 6 months left with them I closed my account. O2 are going to give me £199 for my iphone 4s, the £48 would be my bill for this month anyway so wont be missing that.
I will then open a new account this afternoon with another provider but this will be a contract of £30 saving me £15 per month ( saving £180 per year) this £30 is after the 30%NHS staff discount is applied.
Im a winner and Orange are no longer taking my money for the poor service provided.
Should get refund on friday of £109, from electricity/gas supplier from old property - I kicked up a fuss and said they are just holding my money longer than agreed so they are offering me £10 to say sorry. £119 in total to pay off the c/c this will definatly get me in under the £2k mark on my c/c. Happy Days:)0 -
Hugs to you LHG - sounds like it's been a bit of a month for you too... I've eaten and drunk a bit too much, but I think that's ok in the short term isn't it?
NSK what a stress out about your keys. So pleased that they turned up in the end though. Phew. And have you made your docs appointment yet?Ninja Saving Turtle0 -
***sneaks in*** No Dr appt just yet - no time in the day to get there...
LHG - you realise an all YS spend day is automatically an SFD..? You could have more there..;- )
MancMan - I think I will be doing the same with my iphone as soon as it's contract is up - changing provider that is not selling it- but I want to save money on it too!!“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. O2. February. But whatever plan I got its costing me £48 a month which includes a £12 insurance. I might be ending that pretty soon and going with 'protect my bubble' but need to see if they tie u into a 12 monther.
Currently at The dentist and was greeted by a rude receptionist. Great start!!“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Gonna have a really strict July as I need some leeway in August as we'll be doing the garden up (shouldn't be too dear but need a skip, helpers=bbq+beer, decking?). So first step is to take stock and make a meal plan for the whole month to get that grocery bill down.DEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/250

Hi,
Pit pony reporting in...I am so tired. I have managed to escape the coal face for a bit to post. Well as of today I am up to 20 SFDs and I spent the last of my food budget on Sunday. I had £4.40 left and spent £4.08 in the Co-op, so 32p left. I also still have the £7.85 left for my prescription. I also still have some chocolate left, when that goes I will drink hot chocolate, I don't care how hot it is.
It is pay day on Friday thank goodness. I've already got my pay slip, it includes my payrise, bank holiday hours, overtime and the extra hours I picked up for covering my own annual leave, I'm thinking of framing my pay slip.Debt-Free day 30th September 20140 -
Hi all
Well a spendie day for me and I only have a couple of pounds left but all is well, I have only been only to achieve this though because I had quite a lot of food in the cupboards and freezer, not too sure if I could do it for another month though.
Its been lovely here and this afternoon I spent a couple of hours pottering in the garden so it looks a bit tidier now.
Back to work tomorrow for a couple of days and then one day off and working a couple that brings me up to July first, been a funny month what with computer going bust (still to have it mended, but at least I can have this one for as long as I need it) and the extra cost of my new specs that was unexpected, but I still feel positive and hope to make some more inroads into the OD

So today turned into a spendy day buying lemon juice to clear my drains! Great tip thrifty, my shower drain is bubbling away as we speak. I decided on lemon juice rather than the vinegar version karma suggested because the lemon juice was cheaper!
Actually, I spent in other areas as wellGot a free lip balm from the Body Shop and had a 40% off voucher so topped up a make up thing which cost me £6. Then I headed to Boots and they had a buy one get one half price offer on my hair dye (which was already 50p cheaper than the supermarkets so I stocked up on a few of those (one to be used very soon!!).
I walked around a little and clocked up 25p in Quidco check ins as well!
Now, I also acquired (can't say how, it was a secret mission) a pair of trainers. I have two options - either I can return them for a refund, or keep them at a cost of £50. They're super duper £140 ones, and really snazzy. The only problem is I don't run!! I cancelled my gym membership and have been looking at alternative options. I quite fancied some of these Boot Camps that are springing up everywhere - what with it being summer and all - but I found a free running club in my local area and wondered if keeping the trainers and trying to learn to run might be an option. The cost to me of the trainers is less than I paid for a month's membership at my gym so it seems a good option...I think. Even if it's only over the summer and I maybe look for another gym when the weather turns bad again? If I followed an online running for dummies style programme, I could maybe go it alone. I have 30 days to return them for a refund so I don't need to decide overnight. It was just an idea - I think it was sunny today and I felt inspired
Only 4 days left of June and then we're into the second half of 2013 - how did that happen :eek:0
