Good evening everyone!
Have caught up on the weekend's postings... cupcakes and blocked drains huh? Mmmmmmmmmmm!... YUM... the cakes - not the drains. Can you post a batch my way!!!
Sunday and today were both SFDs which takes me to 12 :T
It's pay day on Thursday and this will be the first one without any overtime adjustments and will be a truer representation of my wage from here on...
I need to have a serious look at what I can afford. I'm living a bit beyond my means I feel if I'm totally honest - but we'll see.
Kat - I noticed your total - you're doing amazingly well!!! Keep up the momentum and you'll make your target for sure!!! Everybody is doing great!

Good evening everyone!
I agree it is noticable colder today, and i would love a cupcake but i started a diet last night as it is 3 months until my holibobs.
My plan was to eat healthy and maybe do a SW/WW club or slimfast? These classes/drinks look expensive though, but not as expensive as buying a new warbrobe because i cant fit in my clothes properly. What to do? hmm.

Hi everyone,
Sorry so quiet. It all got a bit much - the doctor has signed me off work for a fortnight with stress. I'm determined that it's not going to get the better of me though and am trying my best to keep going and get myself in order (and not worry about work).
I have completely blown June's budget. It's the first thing that goes when I'm not 100% - I start spending money and eating bad food in the hope it will make me feel better. Good thing (if there is one) is that I haven't gone totally mad - I've spent money on food, so not totally overboard. I went to Morrison's last night and spent £7.37 ALL on yellow sticker stuff. I went out with almost a trolley load and my freezer is once again overflowing. I'm trying to consider it an mse way of comfort eating, lol.
And I've blown the petrol budget as well. Driving 60 miles a day to take dd to school, come home, pick her up and come home (so much easier when I am at work). So I'll need about an extra £40-50 of petrol to cover the fortnight.
I will absolutely have to be back on the wagon for July's challenge though - I have 5 days away with a friend and our kids, and we need £££ for that.Ninja Saving Turtle0 -
Hi everyone
Glad you got to the Dr Wannabe, I hope everything works out for you, been In a similar situation many moons ago and its not pretty but Im still here and smiling now
It should be another SFD for me, as Im staying in this morning washing, cleaning etc and then this afternoon Im going over to see my DD3 and DGD. Whilst shes on maternity leave it falling into a regular weekly thing - I go hers on a Tuesday and they come to me on a Wednesday, really love seeing them both and lots of cuddles off baby
Sun shining and first lot of washing in machine, had a lie in listening to local radio so a bit behind, so Id better go and be constructive doing something else, will check in later

My shower room smells a little and I noticed the other day that the water wasn't draining away quickly when I showered so I wondered if there was a blockage somewhere? I was just going to buy some of the Mr Muscle style drain cleaner but you may know of something cheaper/more effective??
Similar to the other suggestion: half a cup of baking soda, followed by half a cup of white vinegar. Leave it for half an hour or so to work away, and then wash down with a freshly boiled kettle of water. If you do that about a once a month you can avoid more drastic/expensive mr. muscle remedies!
Bit of a spendy weekend: went to a one day festival (tickets bought before LBM), took a packed lunch, but had dinner there. Food wasn't teribly expensive, as it can be at these things, and some good quality time with a coupel fo friends. Then Sunday went to Columbia Road flower market, just for a wander. Bought some snacky foods from street stalls (yummy bagels and deep fried prawns!) and some shabby chic pots for crafting up with gold leaf and succulents. Not needed (bad KC!) but lovely and only £3 total for something that will be fun to do and joyful for my room long term!
On the up side SFD today and yesterday, and planning one for tomorrow. Thursday will be spends: car service (before big road trip) and car tax, necessary and budgeted for.
I'm debating if I join for July. I'm away for the first two weeks, so won't be abe to check in. Think I might have to bow out, but will lurk on the sidelines and cheer you all on.Total debt: [STRIKE]£9473.62[/STRIKE] £7,384.87 22% PAIDTAF #25 NSD 8/12 | Food £43.45/£50 | eBay 0/20 | Exercise 5/18:T Proud to be Dealing with my Debt :TDFD: June 20150 -
Think budgets busted
Will work out and post properly later, have been kicked out of my little hidey-hole office today so my on-screen activities are visible to all, including my boss! Hello chickadees - is this day going sloooooooooooow or what! I am looking at the clock thinking, it's only 5 hours and 1 minutes until I can go home. I managed to get up today and walk the pooch, have a good go at creating food for the day, emptying the dishwasher, putting a load of washing on, loading the dishwasher with bits I used this morning AND getting the train I wanted...
I am counting the days down... pay day for me on Thursday! I have another round at the FREE dentist tomorrow for another crown apparently. This one is supposed to be easier as it's on the top this time. I think once they are all done with me I will look into getting them bleached... once I am debt free of course...:rotfl:
Lotti I know how you feel, my boss sits behind me!
KarmaChi - keep and eye on the July challenge. You might be able to join in.
Wannabe I am glad you are getting a rest and super glad you made if to the Dr. I need to check in with him as well so you are my inspiration. The extra money is all for the sake of your health so it's worth it - although is there no school bus for the kiddies or are you quite rural?
Abundant - is it the food that is taking you over your spnd budgets? You need to tighten up honey or that DFD of yours will keep being pushed back! How do you plan to tackle your expenditure and where is it mainly going..? My food buget will go up in July as I am feeling slightly fruit/vegetable less. And going on a bit of a health kick ( vegan / gluten free etc )....
I am slinking off to do work... check in later tonight...“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. I'll definitely be reintroducing the spending diary again next month. Although I kept a tally of what I spend in an excel spreadsheet, it only lists £xx.xx as food or MrT read from my bank statement or from memory. But although I didn't spend during the week and thought I only did smaller weekly shops on the weekend my sum says £270:eek: My other budget is accounted for and is higher due to wedding, unplanned fuel and shoe purchases. But deffo needs to come well down again next month. Was thinking of doing a more stricter personal regime like last November to reign myself in as I have become a bit sloppy.DEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/250

Thanks for the drain advice karma and thrifty
I think I'll give one of these a try tomorrow. I have baking soda so I'll just need to buy vinegar or lemon. I'm working late today but I'll give it a blast in the morning. It means one less SFD as I was hoping to have done with the supermarket visits for this month. Still, I found a 51p Price Comparison Voucher on my last visit, I can get quite a lot of vinegar with that
Plus, I'll keep my eyes peeled for more of those lovely vouchers that other customers discard.
Yikes Kat, that sounds a busy morning....hope you're not falling asleep at your desk!
Wanabee, sorry you're having such a rough time. Make sure you use your time off to focus on getting better. Your time away sounds like it will be lovely, a wonderful distraction from real life! Try not to worry about the money. I know the bills don't pay themselves but there's not a lot you can do about what has already been spent so why don't you draw a line under everything and try to focus on a fresh start for July's challenge?!
Boring day for me - no money in, no money out! I saw my payslip today so I stayed up late plotting my attack on the debts as soon as payday arrives. 2 more days.....0 -
Grocery budget: £247/£240
Fun budget: £75/£80
Holiday fund: £350/£350
ISA fund: £0/£400
Debt repayment: £129/£140 (+£250)
SFDs: 8/20
Yesterday was indeed a SFD, wonder if I can get into double figures before the end of this challenge.
Today, however, is NOT a SFD. I need bus fare home as Hubby is off on a jolly and boss lady (who gives me a lift if DH's not here) is on holiday. i don't mind catching the bus but it's so expensive these days!
I also bought the final piece of Hubby's birthday pressie, apart from a few small bits I can sneak into the shopping trolley. I've spent more than I planned on him but he doesn't seem to have realised I've been dipping into the fun budget to fund his pressie0
