Creeping in - DH had fab weekend away he got back to two sleeping kids at 4.30 - I was so determined not to have the I want Daddy chant I think I may have broken them - two action packed days and they were wiped!!

Sports day today - gorgeous day so spent 5 hours (I kid you not) on the school field encouraging (yelling like a banshee) my dd on.

Mac cheese for tea and bed for midgets then curry for dh and me in front of the telly.

Budgets a little baked - need to stop splurging, the no debt thing is a fantastic but dangerous mind set to adjust to - after so many years questioning everything the freedom is a little scary - and as for sfds..... actually managed one today. School photos, school trips, cavity wall, playbarn, lunch out, car tax, breakdown cover, light for the kitchen to replace dodgy fitting, paint for the outside to cover dodgy paint and holes from cavity wall. Reserves depleted so Ineed to get a grip!! July here we come!!

    Love LAGL xx

  • Thanks everyone for such kind words. I feel a bit of a fraud to be honest because I don't feel really ill and am using my time off sitting on my backside watching DVD's etc. And I'm getting out and about - just wandering and walking, but I'm terrified of someone I know seeing me and saying 'Well there's nothing wrong with you.'
My kids go to school near to wear I work because it's much more convenient for me in terms of my childcare arrangements and the time I need to be in work. So they go to school 15 miles away (even though there's a school at the bottom of our street). Unfortunately, if I'm not at work it's far less convenient. But it's not often I'm not at work. So no school buses, and I have no intention of sending an 8 year old on a 70 minute bus journey in on a public bus. I'll just have to suck it up this month.
Went out for a walk with my mum today - been a lsd. I spent £3 in the pound shop getting soil, a pot and some toothpaste (!). DD is growing a sunflower which was in desperate need of repotting.

    Hey all...

Hope you're feeling better soon Wannabe. Don't feel bad for leaving the house... Stress isn't visible - not like a broken leg or chicken pox - you just need to be away from work. If going for a walk with your Mum or a drive out with the kids helps alleviate your stress - then so be it. Don't feel you have to justify yourself. When I was off with stress and depression - I took myself to the gym a few times a week and got 'caught' to which I replied my GP has recommended exercise as being every bit as important as medication... so go shove your opinions where the sun don't shine!!! :rotfl:

Thanks Kat - I'm thinking of halving my personal training sessions saving me £80 a month straight off... Instead of doing shakes 3 times a day - I will go to 1-2 a day... As long as I'm eating well and exercising it's going to get me fit. I also need to get back into going to supermarkets besides Sainsbury's for veg and fruit. Once I'm debt free I can really go for it as I'll be £375 a month better off (what I currently pay). Think how much extra you'll have a month!!!

    Today = SFD number 13

    Have a great evening everyone!!!

    :T

Thanks for this abundant. This is the exact same advice that I would give to anyone else - not sure why I find it so difficult to accept for myself.
Got myself a free trial of l0vefilm, which I now intend to use.

    Morning folks.....

Dilemma last night hence no check in... let me explain.

I felt guilty that the pooch was home alone all day despite a walk in the morning and a visit from LLL's daughter during the day. So we went for a 30 minute walk when I got home at 8pm... almost as soon as we left the house I had to stop and fix the poochie's harness. Onwards we marched to the local park when exiting said park I had the most horrific thought...I didn't have my house keys on me. But I set the alarm and locked the door. I must have left them in the door ...SH*T!!!!

Queue half march and walk home with pooch who wants to sniff everything, has a habit of slipping her harness and is slightly too big to carry the entire way home.

    Keys were not there.

Neighbours have a spare key. Pooch deposited. Walked the entire route again. Nothing. Came home to get push bike to do it all again. Had to blow up tires first. Neighbour who has spare keys walked the entire distance as well. Local police office closed so they would not have been handed in. Get home and give up. Another neighour walks by, my keys in hand, says they walked the entire block looking for the house with an alarm who might own them - shame they didn't try the one that the keys were outside first...:rotfl:

I'd put them down when fixing the dog's harness. Whoopsie! I have done this before - left keys in my door. I told the LLL this before I moved in so she won't be surprised...

So 1 hour later I had to shower, eat, empty dishwasher, put out washing I put on this morning, clean puddy-tat litter tray ( always fun )..make a smoothie for this morning and get to bed in one hour cause that whole key fiasco took an hour as well....#groan.

Feel better today - no expensive fob to replace! :o

Abundant - that sounds like a plan! I am on a new "restriction/elimination" foodage plan ( more info on my personal thread ) and it will cost a little more I feel. But am still going to be super careful!

Wannabe I agree with Abundant. Some people are still so thick they don't understand how stress can impact a persons life. You need to do things where your mind is NOT working.. you need to relax and whether that is walking, Dvd's or exercise is no one's concern. My stress levels got so high when I was at Uni ( although were continuing from High School ) I suffer "female patterned baldness" and had to pay for £4000 worth of corrective treatment (all in cash I hasten to add), my skin issues are stress related... and you can really make yourself sick through worry, anxiety and stress related symptoms. Your Dr was right to sign you off - so enjoy it and sod everyone else..:T

HM I am curious as to the gifts you have got hubby??

Siouxsie I am loving the vouches and comparison thingys you are using ... you are true MSE!! :T

Right work calleth.... dentist later for another free crown and filling. What a way to treat myself eh...

    Onwards and Upwards!!!

P.S - Jedson if you are checking in for this challenge is finsihes in 4 days. Check back for the July challenge.

    Morning!

That is such an awful feeling when you realise you have misplaced keys... Glad it all ended happily ever after though!!!
Congrats on slicing an extra £1000 off the loan!!! That's awesome news.

Day off here today - but have a busy one planned. That said am aiming for another SFD. Had a mega breakfast lol which will see me through until after the gym at lunch time. Have fruit/veg in the fridge to use up, and a tonne of tinned fish in the cupboard.

Will check in later on tonight. Have a great day everyone!!! :D

    Morning all,

I was at the bus stop last night dreading how much it was goingt o cost to get home when a man came up and said "Are you paying? If so, you can use my day rover, I'm done with it now but it's valid till midnight"
    Free bus ride home :D

Kat, I've bought Hubby 40 things he'll need for our cruise from little bits like a toothbrush and shower gel to flip flops and socks to an e-reader and document holder. I've cheated a bit in that I've put 10 free books on the e-reader and wrapped up a pack of socks into 5 pairs so I count them so these count as 16 gifts not 2 ;)

Hoping for a SFD today :)
  • Morning all,

I'm sneaking in too. Been so miserable about not having much to say other than the same old same old, and have been a bit spendy.

This is the first month in I can't remember how long that I haven't put ANYTHING at all on a credit card. Nothing. Nothing to pay back out of my other spends, nothing to pay back another time but forgotten, nothing at all.

I split up with the chap (my decision, right thing to do and very money related) so had a bit more wine this week than I normally would do. but I've been out and done some other great stuff to so I'm OK. Lovely mummy LHG slipped me an extra few quid as she knows I'm struggling a bit.

I have stuck to my food budget. £50 is the lowest I've ever spent on food in a month in a very long time, and I've actually eaten really well.

SFDs - I think I will make it to 13 this month. These are tricky for me, I shop for food every couple of days to maximise the YS purchases which are crucial to my low food spend. I think I might count days I don't spend on food or other essentials as my SFDs next month, I hope that will be OK?

Wannabe - I'm sorry to hear about the stress but glad the doctor has signed you off. I agree you need to get out and do anything that will lift your spirits. Fresh air is great for this even if you are feeling weak and/or a bit pathetic (not saying you are but hopefully you know what I mean). Sitting in the house for 2 weeks will just make things a million times worse and I think most people know this so don't worry about being 'caught' out! I hope you feel calmer soon, I've been there too and it is horrendous when everything feels like its coming in on you.

NSK - I left my house keys in the front door once overnight. With my car key fob on. With my car parked outside the house on a street used as a rat run on the way home from the pub/kebab alley. How they were still there the next morning I will never know!
