Welcome to the weekly Flylady thread. If you need help organising your week or getting motivated when it comes to housework then come and join us.

Thanks to Dusty for last weeks thread

Continuing on with the new style from last week :D The idea is that even if you are really busy you don't need to fall off the wagon!

Every room comes back around next week so please don’t stress about catching up

These lists are only suggestions and not a must do list; you are more than welcome to post and follow your own lists.

Also adding a declutter mission each day will help to gradually clear the clutter and make flying easier.

A few of the basics before we start the week

Hotspots are areas where if one thing gets put there, loads of other things follow!

Daily routines
are anything you need to do on a daily basis like washing, swish and swipe kitchen and bathroom, ironing, making beds, vacuuming high traffic areas, making meals etc.

Night-time routines are all things which make getting ready in the morning easier, preparing clothes for the next day, making lunches, swish & swipes of the kitchen and tidying the living room before you go to bed plus personals like shower/brush teeth etc.

Fling Boogie - stick on some loud music, grab a bin bag and whiz around the house finding items that can go out with the rubbish, recycling, for charity shop, basically anything that will stop it cluttering your home.

Swish and swipe/S&S means have a quick wipe over an area such as a sink or toilet to prevent the build up of dirt. This is usually done on a daily basis

HHE/HHC/HHI
Half Hour exercise/challenge/ironing ... run around for 30 minutes to the Benny Hill music frantically cleaning exercising or ironing.. other music may be used if you prefer!

Click here to read Toots wonderful welcome guide

And as it's half term for some I thought we could get the little ones and even the bigger ones helping to do some of the lists.

Hope you have an easy week of it Juliejim. No doubt the house will have been left immaculate by DH, as he's been in charge for so long;)

I'm going to be in as much as I dare, this week.

Thanks for the thread Natty, and for last week's, Dusty.

TY Nattabags... we're in.. whether this lot like it or not!! I don't care! :p

3 more binbags of rubbish and 1 for CS out of the small girly room, I moved a chest of drawers and rehomed a huge chest under the table on the landing which I can do now I have banished ALL OHs sh!te to the loft.. I WILL have a landing by the end of the week.. I can almost get to the landing table to make a start on clearing that.

I have 2 bookcases OH needs to build when the weather takes a turn for the worst, which will no doubt be tomorrow :p. I have 2 girls staying out tonight so first thing in the morning.. after my usual 3 hours procrastination I shall vacuum their room and the landing ready for bookcase #1 and sort the gubbins which has accumulated there just to annoy me!

In a few areas of the house I can actually see a difference, tidy is a very very long way off but habitable is looking like a possibility.

I have 2 full to bursting wheelie bins and 7 binbags and an empty box ready to fling in the neighbours bins!

I can happily crack on with the knitting of the baby blanket now a few unisex/appropriately coloured cardies/jumpers have been located in the loft. I may photograph them and add them to my fb knits folder... purely because I am a geek!

Cuppa glugged.. baby washing to bring in and fold and place in CS bag and box of baby stuff.. it has half a medium sized box of stuff which seems to be all it is getting .. haha!

I still haven't finished sorting the downstairs reception rooms but hey.. one can't have everything.. the small girly room looks infinitely better AND even better there is looking like there may be room for Dot in there in the not so distant and unimaginable future!

    Lisp for Moonday!

Manic Monday ~ Kitchen, Utility and Dining Mess
    Only got 15 minutes
Sweep and mop floors.. just done that after the tiddlies chalked all over them.. I have discovered 2 caps of disinfectant tipped on the floor mops it all beautifully... that will make life easier!
    Declutter and wipe worksurfaces.. DD2
    Got an hour
Wash windows.. I REFUSE to wash them twice!! and I have no blinds up.. yet.
Clear and wipe out the oven and hob.. I might delegate the hob to DD2 .. she needs to earn her keep and her room is a pit, I've had the boys doing all sorts today!

    Extras
    1. Clean out pongy pets.. DS3
All the rest is done, not needed or not relevant!

Ahh I'm in again for this week but my little one is only 13 months old so not particularly compliant or helpful! She might wipe things with a cloth if I give her one though...if I'm lucky!

Sorry to hear of your loss, Juliejim - my thoughts are with you and your family.

And coping vibes to LW. You'd think surgery records would be crystal clear and kept up-to-date, wouldn't you?

Thanks Honey Bear for your concern about my DH. He is a little better this evening, having been down to the heritage railway to collect the last of his bits and pieces, and he seems to have left the BD there. To tell the truth, I think this morning he had a bit of a hangover after 2 glasses of wine and 2 whiskies (probably doubles) last night! He doesn't normally drink much, and never when he's on his own, but in company appreciative of his collection of whiskies he gets a bit carried away.

Thanks to Natty for the new list and to Dusty for last week's.

Like kazwookie, I'm sort of in again, i.e. doing my own thing and keeping the house as clean and tidy as possible whilst sorting things out and moving things round, ready for packing next week. Various visitors are calling in for meals or coffee during the week, but 2-and-a-half days out will make it difficult to do very much flying ;)

This evening I have managed to mow the back lawn, and I even trimmed round the edges. The dandelion heads have all gone for the time being, but I know that many of them seeded before I decapitated them, so the new owners will doubtless find a sea of yellow when they arrive or shortly thereafter!

I discovered 7 bags of raisins when I sorted the kitchen cupboard, so I've been hunting for my mother's recipe for boiled cake. Can't find it anywhere among my other bits of paper among the cookbooks, but I have found this recipe which is as near as I can remember from my childhood (some include milk and mixed fruit, and I know we never did: it was always water and raisins) and looks quite yummy. I will make one loaf each for DS1 and DS2 to take with us on Tuesday - they can be the taste judges. I'm also using up a bag of sunflower bread mix, to make rolls for our picnic lunch tomorrow, and have worked off a few calories kneading it by hand, now that I no longer have a breadmaker (it fell apart!)

Talking of rolls... Pigpen, you seem to be on one atm! Roundtuit too - well done on your achievements this weekend. Valli, remember to take it easy for a few more days!

Hope everyone has a good week. (((Hugs))), spoons, sticks and posivibes to all who need them.

We're in too. Littlies are getting good at putting toys away. I shout "who's on my team?" And they both yell "me me" lol. I set the kitchen timer and say "DS is in charge of trains, DD in charge of people, and mummy in charge of kitchen!" And we all grab the right tub, DS for his railway toys, DD the happyland / little people stuff and me for the teaset stuff :D and run around collecting. Happily they help each other, and extras like cars and dollies get picked up too!

I find the littlies also like to put things in the washer, bin, DW, sink etc. and they love the cordless carpet sweeper!

They also give good massages :D we did play fighting earlier and DS ended up stood on the top of my back oooohhhhh it was lovely, so they both started crawling up and down, to my shoulders lol. Very nice after all that patio sweeping :rotfl:

Enough of our delirium, see you tomorrow!

    (And thanks for the lists!)

Thank you for making me feel welcome, as always, and thank you for the new thread, Natty. Although I didn't need the sunshine to see the dust, valli.....:o Any more and the dust bunnies would have come to life.

I've enjoyed reading about all of you again and plan to stick around this time. I need to get the house sorted so I can fit in study time for my planned career change. At least DS2 can now invite friends round more often, which will keep him happy when I'm busy. :T

Tomorrow has been designated a stay-at-home day. The weather is supposed to turn and I hate going anywhere on bank holidays, so despite OH wanting to be out and about, I can't see it happening. I feel like putting him to work since he's pretty much opted out so far and left me and the DSs to it. The kitchen is too small for both of us, but I want him to sort his clothes in our bedroom.

The dining room looks good (although it probably needs a deep clean, which will have to wait) but the kitchen's a mess. I have to get it sorted so I can finally phone the heating guy about our leaky boiler :(, so I'm glad it's kitchen day tomorrow.

Manic Monday ~ Kitchen, Utility and Dining Mess
    Sweep and mop floors
    Declutter and wipe worksurfaces
Wipe ALL large appliances and units and kickboards
Wipe and replace all small appliances
    Wash windows.. and dust blinds
Clear and wipe out the oven and hob
    Wipe table
    Clean filters and detergent dispensers
Get DS2s old toys ready for friend's twin grandchildren (she'll call with his birthday card at some point)

    Young Helpers list:
    Read
    Mental maths practice
Tidy toys in garden if it's not raining
    Some left-over homework :p

I also really want to play the 'scene it' music game I bought at a charity coffee morning for £1. :D Although OH is likely to win....

Best get on with today's admin jobs, although I'd much rather read my book.
