Morning all........its a bit dull and grey here, OH has just nipped over to get a rake to start on the garden at the front of the complex.......I am waiting for DH to call if she needs a lift up to fix the cupboards.
I have an appointment this afternoon to have impressions taken for my new bridge......hate having them done, but its badly needed.
Nothing else planned..........once the cupboards are up I will be able to start baking again, up to now have only made scones.......once I have all the rubbish on the worktops where it should be I will have a lot more room and the mugs will disappear from the window cill, so more room for plants.
No duvet on the bed last night, just slept under a quilt and sheet, phew it was warm, glad its cooler this morning, it was very warm at the lottie yesterday afternoon.
Right, I am off for a coffee...........have a good day ...............Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.0 -
Morning All!
MrsMix Try not to lose your temper. I know it's difficult, but if you do you lose the moral high ground. Maybe you could say, in a very calm voice, "I can feel myself getting angry....." and then talk normally to them?
<<Kyle>>Warm salt water rinses every hour. Tastes vile, but it is so good for your poor gums. I had all four wisdom teeth out - not as bad as what you've had, but not pleasant.
<<scuzz>> your mum is just worried about you, that's all. She knows you've had a few uncertain weeks with bf, and she doesn't want to see you getting hurt. Unfortunately parents are people too, and sometimes what's going on in the head doesn't come out of the mouth in the right way. Tell her you really appreciate the fact that she is concerned, and you know that if it all goes wrong then she'll be there for you...but this is something you really want to do, and if you don't try it, you'll regret it. (or something like that). Oh, and think about talking to your bf about what would happen to the business in the unlikely event that you split up. It's much better to sort this out now than when you're actually going through a split.
<<Hardup hester>>Good luck with the dress altering.
Tinkerbell I scan and shred everything. The only thing I do keep is one recent utility bill and one recent CC statement, in case I need them for proof of ID (for example, opening a savings account).
<<hugs>> to anyone else who wants or needs one.
Well yesterday we transplanted the hedge behind the concretery to its new home at the end of the garden. Don't know if it'll survive the move, but it would have been composted otherwise.
We've got an old concrete washing post to dig out (we've done it before, it's a nightmare), a day of of earth moving, then puilling out the lovely corrugated iron from the back, and then varous tip trips to dump the concrete rocks, the bicycle frame, the pram wheels, the rusty tools, and the other nasties that were lurking....and it'll all be gone. Although it's been a lot of work, it hasn't been as hard as I expected.
We're popping out in a minute to see if we can get (or order, as theres a shortage) some small holed trellis so we can make the new bit of garden.
WM on with bedding, have one more load to do when that's finished. No time for housework today, as the garden is calling.
Also want to pop to Savill Garden to see the new New Zealand Garden.
I've got chicken salad for my main meal today. Not sure whether to have it at lunchtime, and then have some semolina for my tea, or whether to have it for dinner this evening. DH will be having pork casserole or somesuch. I don't eat pork pork (I eat bacon and ham) I can't bear the smell of it cooking, so DH will have to do it himself.
Have a great day everyone.0 -
Thanks to be FRUGAL & Crazychik for your comments re the scanning idea. I know I should keep them but it all takes up so much space. I guess I need a good clear through and shread anything that I no longer need (like I know I have insurance cover notes going back about 10 years!)
dannahaz - On the flip side, considering you do what I'm planning have you ever had any problems with companies wanting originals? You laugh because I'm different - I laugh because you're all the same0 -
Morning all
Just a quick one from me as we're busy busy busy at w**k. Supposed to be doing some system testing so had better look busy...
DH is going to buy a strimmer today, so he's happy. He likes buying tools. Hopefully he will now be able to sort out the allotment - its looking a right mess- and that should give him the impetus to get stuff done.
Not much planned for the weekend - will see what the weather does I think.
Have a good day all,
metherer
xNot heavily in debt, but still trying to sort things out.

Morning all
Yesterday started out feeling icky, then from late afternoon it picked up, DH has managed to get someone else to cover for him this weekend at work, it means he had to work 4 hours OT yesterday and 4 today but he'll be here all weekend :T
Also got an email yesterday that made my day I've been doing some voluntary writing and the publishers have asked me to write regularly and they'll pay me :j okay will only be about £75 a month but it's pennies to fund my herb and craft habitOh and my 3 year old niece called to ask for some 'magic pumpkin' seeds, she's apparently got the gardening bug from her Auntie bless, so I posted her a pack yesterday on condition I got a pumpkin and a kiss out of the deal
Slept loads better last night, today was homemade ready meal day for DH so I got to stay in bed and didn't wake up until 8:30  So I'm way behind on the day and feel a little punchy because I had too much sleep, you can't win lol!
(((((((( Kyle )))))))) hope you're feeling better soon, thanks for the PM it was really nice of you and I'll PM back later today, hope you have a good day shopping with Twink and get some super bargains
Crazychik wrote:Can we over-dose on too much lavender! Despite my sleeping patterns are improving, Im getting very sleepy during the day!
I do know that some people can have a reaction to lavender, as they can with any essential oil, you shouldn't use it on the skin if you're pregnant as its a uterine stimulant. I use it neat on insect bites, burns etc but many people prefer to dilute it before applying to the skin.
There's two main sorts of lavender oil as well you need to check the latin name on your labels, sometimes you get a 'bargain' when you see lavender oil really cheap but are you getting Lavandula latifolia (Spike lavender), Lavandula angustifolia (True Lavender) or is it Lavandula hybrida (Lavendin) which is a hybrid of angustifolia and latifolia. The cheaper brands tend to be the adulterated ones and the expensive ones the true lavender or 'therapeuatic' lavender. I make a sleep blend with chamomile, rose, neroli and lavender, a few drops in the bath helps me relax, I also use a pillow mist (vodka and water in a spray bottle with lavender oil) for those that don't want to apply it direct to the skin. Ohhh yeahhh and I make and scoff lavender biscuits to lol!
Good oils to 'wake you up' are lemongrass and spearmint, I use lemongrass alot in my oil burner as I find it clears my head, wakes me up and makes the whole house smell wonderful. Oooop's rambled there a bit didn't I!
Plans today, do a stock/supplies list, do some baking for weekend (I have a load of rhubarb in the garden that needs harvesting and using so DH can have his fav rhubarb crumble made with rhubarb I grew) Also want to clean the bathroom and sort out the meal plan for next month (been trying to do it all week but keep doing other stuff instead  ) Hugs to everyone that needs them, congrats to all who've had good news, and get well soon to all the poorly people. Will try and pop back later but better go do some work now, have lemongrass oil on to wake me up now lol!

Hi there – just popped back in for coffee!
CRAZYCHIK – good luck with your quest for the sun loungers! Have a great time in London. Re lavender – TWINK says not to overdo it!
VICKYA – congrats on the new job!
GRANNYBROON – so sorry you’ve not been well – get better soon
TIREDMUM – Nice will be nice! Have a great time!
HILSTEP – sorry you’ve been ill; hope you feel better soon
AUSSIELASS – boy, do I know how you feel re ‘me’ time! My DH is self-employed and more or less chooses his own hours but, by default, he affects my plans too! We’re off to France next Thursday and he’s ‘taking a few days off to get organised’ which means he’ll completely disorganise me. Only this morning, he’s been constantly interrupting me. His idea of getting organised is to get me to do everything. Anyway, he’s just gone out to pick up a payment from a customer and then he’s dropping in on a friend so, though I have some ‘me’ time, I’ve no idea how long it will last and I have to play catch-up on all the things he’s stopped me doing this morning! The one bonus is that he changed cars yesterday (swapped his small 4X4 for a bigger one) so he’ll have hours of endless ‘fun’ cleaning the new one and ‘getting to know her’ so I’ll get some peace and quiet over the weekend, until it rains! We have about three weeks in France planned but five days of that will be in Italy where DS1 is getting married.
HARDUP –you’ll look wonderful and the EX is probably worrying as well!
SLOWLYFADING – good luck with all those exams!
HARIBO – I do hope your eyebrows recover!
CSSARINA – the impressions won’t take long. Just take deep breaths through your nose and concentrate on wiggling your toes!
ANNIESTAR – so glad Phoebe is well and truly on the mend
DANNAHAZ – you must be so proud of all the hard work on your concretery! Well done!
Well, I have loads to do because DH was a pain in the a*** this morning so I shouldn’t be sitting here! Have just arranged our travel insurance via Quidco and have earned 10% back – it would have been more if we weren’t so old! We’re in the sagalout group now! Sun is shining at the moment and my line is full. Going to the farm shop and butchers this afternoon and big shop in the Co-op tomorrow followed by a shopping trip to get shoes to match the dress I’m wearing for the wedding – haven’t been able to find any yet! Oh, and DH will be colouring my hair this weekend because it’s looking very grey! Need to pluck my eyebrows as well but I might try doing them the HARIBO way now!
Well, I’m definitely off now – must get some more jobs done.
See you all later.
KathyXX
HERBAHOLIC - well done on the writing job! I've been trying to get some articles published but with no luck so far. I'm also trying to write a book - in the rare moments when I get time to myself. Well done and good luck - will we see your name in print?
Oh, and thanks for all that wonderful info on lavender - I had no idea there were different qualities; I'll look in my aromatherapy books to find out which is the best to use for insomnia but, so far, the spike lavender seems to be working! Anyway, if you find out any more please post it!KNIT YOUR SQUARE TOTALS:

I can't remember the last time I posted on the daily but I had to share ~ last night my darling daughter ate a meal that included vegetables and proudly showed off her empty plate ~ and she's not 21 yet! :j :rotfl: :rotfl: it's the first time ever that there hasn't been some pushed-around veggies left on the plate
I think that going away to university has shown her that home cooking is best, 'bout flippin time too......If I screw my eyes up tight I can just about see where you're coming from0 -
Morning All
Been busy bleaching my wheelie bins today as the weather is warm here today. Mow the lawn later and then baked potato for dinner tonight and then down to the beach to collect dolly soap. I dont know if you know but there is a dolphin off the coast down here. Has been here for a year or so now so went down to see it. Absoluty amazing sitting on an english beach watching a dolphin in the sea. By the way he is called 'Dave' and he even has his own website apparently.
Hope you all have a good one and have a great bank holiday weekend. Back to work for me on Monday though.

Well - loss adjuster has just been and bad news is that insurance doesn't cover any of the damage..So got to find 12k to get the work done. Tried adding it on to mortgage but I'd have to pay early redemption fee, so applied for a loan instead. Don't know that I'll get it with my past credit history. On a real downer as I was so close to being completely debt free.
heading off to work now..0
