I need to buy a new hose today, after my old one leaked and sprayed water in my shed. bit of a mess.
It's pretty foggy here today. May have to tidy up the office first and then hope it clears to get outside later.NO to pasty tax We won!!!! Just shows that people power works! Don't be apathetic to your cause!0 -

scuzz not much good the promotion if no payrise, not sure about florida though, think i would need to know where i stood with bf first, sure mum does support you but we tend to worry, my gran never stopped worrying about hers and their kids were all pensioners by the time they passed on

Hi everyone.
Scuzz... My DH has had similar happenings with him at work. He's recieved a sort of promotion, no wage rise. Supposed to be being reveiwed, but it's taking a long time. His new status requires extra work as well, although not so binding as yours.
Need to do some baking today.
Not shopping tonight. DH and I are going to Asda tomorrow. We don't have a local one, so we try to do a monthly stock up on items we know are cheaper there than locally. Also there is a nice butchers near the Asda we go to as well :-) So I shall stock up on my meat too. Do you think it would be cheaper to get cleaning stuff at Asda, or to get some at Poundland?? We are going to a nearby "big" town to us as well tomorrow (the girls need new clothes) and they have a Poundland there.
I don't know if my Asda shop will mess up my grocery challenge?? I shall do the weekly shop there. I suppose if I deduct the weekly shop from the overall bill, it would count as a "May" shop. Then I could work out what's left etc for June couldn't I ???
No sunshine at the moment :-( Warm though. Wouldn't be surprised if we had a bit of thunder.
Last night, DH and I did the music for our house group meeting. We hadn't got together to practice, so it was a rather rushed play through before we went. I thought it sounded a bit shakey while we were doing it, but someone said we harmonised nicely together, so maybe the Lord made it sound sweet to their ears. lol. Must make sure we practice a bit more for next weeks meeting during the week lol.
Children are supposed to get some chores done. Have noticed 2nd youngest (12 going on 18!!!!) hasn't cleaned the downstairs bathroom sink, so I must follow her up on that, and my 16yr was supposed to empty the bins, but they still look occupied, so I must chase her up about that as well.
Everybody have a blessed and prosperous day.
Hugs all round.0 -

Running late this morning, so just a quick hello and I will catch up on the thread later. Just going to take the dog out, and it is drizzling - it is me or does drizzle get you wetter than proper rain
Hope everyone is OK, will be back for a longer chat later xYou're only young once, but you can be immature forever0 -

Morning all! Bit late this morning - that lavender is really working now I've got the dose right!
MRS MIX - it must be nearly ten years since my last one left school and I still think - at 3.30 every afternoon - 'they'll be home from school soon!' They grow so fast and you wonder where the time went.
KYLE - get thee to a dentist - you must have an infection! It should have settled down by now. Don't let it spoil the long weekend!
SCUZZ - hope you get somewhere with work. Promotion without payrise does not sound right to me.
AMIE - we're going next Thursday on the 8.45 a.m. ferry from Portsmouth so be round to pick you up at about 5.00 OK? Coming back on or about 18th June if that suits you!
EMMY - it's your dentist's responsibility to make sure you're happy with the denture so I would definitely go back. If you think the teeth are too short it will affect your 'bite' and that sort of thing can give you headaches, etc., and stop you eating properly.
PENPIN - It took me some time to get the lavender 'dose' right; I know one night I overdid it and rubbed some on my feet because I had read that it was a good idea but, that night, I dreamt that armed murderers broke in and kept us captive! Awful night's sleep. TWINK says to go easy on it or it can make you woozy. The last couple of nights I must have got it just right because I've had a good solid five or six hours sleep which is unusual for me!
Anyway, DH has just made me a cup of coffee; WM is on and farm shop and butcher list written out. As we are away from next Thursday, I don't have a normal week's shopping to do today, although we willl probably shop again on Wednesday for supplies to take with us to France - things like PG Tips, DH's Shredded Wheat and odds and s*ds like that.
Must book the ferry today - do that online now and they just send you an e-ticket online; works really well.
Have four items ending on eBay this afternoon but have not sold a book on Amazon since two sold on Sunday! Thought I was on a roll with that! I must set my holiday settings on Amazon and Green Metropolis so that my books are suspended until I come back from France. Oh, the list of things I have to do is getting longer and longer. I'm going to keep a clipboard going in the kitchen with big reminders on it because I keep forgetting things. That must be old age!
The weather is reasonably bright at the moment but we all know the forecast for tomorrow is rotten so will plan some stay-at-home knitting and television watching. Must mow the lawns before it rains. DH is off work today so that will be a job for him! Just have a towel wash to go on the line today.
Well, must go - my hair is still in a towel and needs drying, the breakfast things need clearing up; I have a pile of ironing that I will do tomorrow and some paperwork that I MUST do today and so it goes on! I keep thinking it's Saturday today - that's because DH is home!
Will drop in later - have a good day, everyone, and (((hugs))) to all who need them.

Morning all!
I was here earlier but no thread -and I'm too shy to start one. (If that's the etiquette)
Gorgeous sunny morning here so had a lovely walk with dog. Got a heavy day ahead at work but got loss adjusters coming first (keep your fingers crossed for me that they'll pay something).
DD1 has second last exam today, last one is on Monday and then she's finished school forever - know what you're feeling Mrs Mix!
Kyle - hope your mouth gets better and you have a fun day in Aberdeen. I'm in Aberdeen a lot and the sun always shines there (even when it rains!)
Mioliere - place we're going to is serdinya - which is two hours from Barcelona and 45 minutes from the coast. I think it's near Montpellier. Looks on to Mt Canigou, and there are thermal springs nearby I thought we'd visit.
Scuzz - Please please - think carefully of what you are doing. If you're set on going to Florida then go, but don't fall out with your mum over it. She is just worried about you. Also, try to get the legals sorted. My sister was deported for working illegally - thrown in jail first then sent home with no belongings. not a nice experience.
Jockettuk - your old neighbour will be delighted to see you - what a lovely thing to do!
Better go get things squared up - hope you all have a good day!

Morning all
Well I didn't get round to doing the garden last night as it looked like the weather was going to turn, I hope it stays fine for at least some of the weekend as I really want to get the hedges done as they haven't been done at all this year yet
Apart from that this weekends plans include shopping for a new (secondhand) car, getting back into the e-bay side of things and hopefully cleaning out that spare room that is quickly becoming the bain of my life!
scuzz - Sorry to hear the meeting didn't go well. Mr Tink and I looked to setting up a business in Florida a few years ago but at the moment due to family circumstances we're tied to the UK
Penny-Pincher!! - Glad to hear the lavender worked for you. I find if I use to much if it I get light headed and giggly!
jockettuk- Just remember anything off rather than on is a success
Right, back to it. Hopefully I will get a chance to pop back later but if not I hope you all have a great long weekend and take or leave the :grouphug: as needed.
P.S - Does anyone know if it would be OK for me to scan in all of my statments, paperwork etc and bin the originals? Or am I missing something and I should be keeping the originals for something? You laugh because I'm different - I laugh because you're all the same0 -
Good morning everyone!
(((Hugs))) to all who need/would like them!
VickyA - many congratulations on new job
Scuzz - it sounds as if lots of employers are treating their staff that way these days. Not sure it helps knowing you're not alone though.
Todays plans: I need to get the church magazine finished today for printing tomorrow, so that has priority.
Also need to organise DS into doing some "school" work.
Washing is in the WM, so that will go out later.
Gardening: need to plant some more carrots, some lettuce (maybe some other veg, too) & transplant some night-scented stock into flowerbeds.
And I need to decide what's for dinner...
Have a lovely day, all of you!0
