    Why do you think that?

I'm 35 and can think of hundreds of places I'd go before going anywhere near Disneyland!

I think everyone with kids should go to Disneyworld once too, but to Florida, not to DLP ! I'd go every year if i could afford it.

Peachyprice - interesting about the price. I don't mind wrapping up and would rather go when its quieter.
    Thank you for your opinions.

there is a huge Disneyland Paris thread in the Overseas holidays board :) -

I think holidays with kids is what you make it really - ie if you don't live near a beach, have a holiday by the beach, makes all the difference to be doing things you don't normally do at home.

    Why though?

Because it's magical ! If you're not a Disney fan, you won't understand. :D It's difficult to explain really

The look on my daughters face when it was her 5th birthday and we took her for lunch with Cinderella in the castle at Magic Kingdom is something i will never forget. She'll be 13 when we go this year, she's just as excited as she was then. So am i !

Okay. I'm trying to keep DD away from Disney princesses for as long as I can!

We stick to the Pixar films like Up, Wall-E and Finding Nemo. As a result her face lights up when she sees more than 3 balloons together, a tiny plant or a clown fish! :D

    You would LOVE Disney !

The turtle talk with Crush was amazing, Crush actually talks to individual children in the audience. It's a huge interactive screen and whoever is doing the voice of Crush can see which children he is talking to, it's very clever.

Tinkerbell flying from the top of the castle always makes me fill up too, she flies just before the fireworks start. I'm a wreck by the time they're finished ! Watch this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qdilScQRoYQ

It's the full 10 minute show, it's on every night.

Thanks. She's only 2.5 so I probably have a few years before the pestering starts! :)

We first went when my daughter was 3, we've been every other year since ! She'll be 13 in July. I think 5 is a good age to start !

Our favourite family holidays are with Thomson Al Fresco staying in their mobile homes in Europe. This year will be our 6th with them so that speaks volumes!
We often stay in France and drive there but the best park we have ever stayed in was just outside of Venice called Marina di Venezia and it was spectacular!

We started going on holiday when no.1 son was about 5 and spent a week at Dovercourt and had the best time ever (remember Hi-de-hi).
After years of caravan jollies for our 20th we took the kids to Benidorm AI and they enjoyed that too.
Personally I think if you have young children you still need some sort of routine - so our compromise was to allow them to stay up late (8/9pm) if they had a snooze in the afternoon.
My best ever memory if of Brackleshome Bay (?) many moons ago in a little caravan - (toilet/shower block at the end of the field) sitting outside the clubhouse with a bottle of pop and a packet of crisps!
One day it was chucking it down so my mum sent us outside in our swimming costumes and a football - result was lots of other dads and kids joining in for muddy football, then a quick shower and back for a hot chocolate and and very good nights sleep.
    xx
