I've been doing some research to decide what treatment to give my new cat.
My previous cat used to wear a bob martin flea collar all the time, and died of cancer to her mouth. May not be related, but just in case, this time I want to be very careful.
I've been reading quite a lot of bad things about bob marting flea and deworming spot on products, but surely if they were so bad they would not be sold as safe?
I'm confused now, and I'm probably not going to give my cat any of these products, if she gets fleas or parasites we'll deal with it...

I've personally found them to be ineffective so haven't used them, my cat wouldn't have worn a collar anyway. I've always used whatever spot on is recommended by my vet. I think it's Advantage these days and Drontal. It is more expensive, but better than the alternative. I don't regularly treat her now, as she's got no fleas and doesn't go outside any more. She's almost 15 and too lazy to go out. She gets combed regularly and checked for flea droppings just in case someone brings one in on their clothes.4 Stones and 0 pounds or 25.4kg lighter :j0

Wouldn't have Bob Martins in my house or near my animals it's awful.
My vet has a massive sign in the reception begging people not to use it. It can cause seizures and all sorts.
I use stronghold or advantage for fleas nothing elseFirst Date 08/11/2008, Moved In Together 01/06/2009, Engaged 01/01/10, Wedding Day 27/04/2013, Baby Moshie due 29/06/2019 :T0 -
I have a Bichon Frise !!!!!, and used a Bob Martin flea ampule that I got in supermarket, she went frantic within minutes of putting it on, running around the house crying, it was horrific.
I was told by vet to get her into bath and rinse and rinse, and use mild shampoo, and eventually she was fine. But the products should be banned in my opinion, I only use the dual worm and flea product from vet now, which doesn't bother her at all. I wont take the chance again.0 -

No idea why this CARP is not banned yet.
Lots of people like to get all their shopping in one place and supermarkets stock this rubbish so it is easy to get.
Pet shops stock it too-unbelievable...0
