Is this weird or is it me?

Man in 50s doesn't mind his mum just walking into bedroom without knocking, and seeing him naked.
Me?
But he says she used to change his nappies, so who cares.
So... very weird? A bit weird? Not weird at all?
Have your parents seen you nudie since you were a kid?

Very wierd. But my family wasn't a 'nudie' family- I didn't see my parents in the buff at all. My children see their dad and me nekked every day so they may have very different attitudes as adults.
At 50 though, having your mum walk in? :eek:They call me Dr Worm... I'm interested in things; I'm not a real doctor but I am a real worm.0 -
yes, a bit weird.
Is this a regular occurrence?0 -
Ummm yeah...that is a bit weird
Boundaries and privacy are important, even if they are extremely close!
My parents haven't seen me in the nip since I was old enough to bathe, dry and dress myself.0 -
My family very much not nudie, but since giving birth I don;t mind my mum seeing me naked (she was not present at birth of DD, I just have no inhibitions now!).
So, maybe not really that weird although first reaction is that it is.
ETA: I am now a breastfeeding supporter so I see women's boobs all the time, sometimes close up  and so maybe that has contributed to my nudie attitude? DD is 3 and sees us naked although DH drew the line at her helping him aim when he was weeing! :rotfl::cool: DFW Nerd Club member 023...DFD 9.2.2007 :heartpuls married 21 6 08 :A Angel babies' birth dates 3.10.08 * 4.3.11 * 11.11.11 * 17.3.12 * 2.7.12 :heart2: My live baby's birth date 22 7 09 :heart2: I'm due another baby at the end of July 2014! :j

Why on earth would an adult walk into another adult's bedroom without knocking? They call me Dr Worm... I'm interested in things; I'm not a real doctor but I am a real worm.0 -
Don't think Dad ever saw me naked after childhood, but Mum does all the time when she stays with us as I don't tend to wear clothes around the house. When DH's grandmother was alive, we both used to get in the shower with her to help with mobility issues - not really an issue for us. I remember an elderly friend telling me she and her husband had never seen each other naked in 50 years of marriage - now I find that weird."Save £12k in 2019" #120 - £100,699.57/£100,0000

I wouldn't want either parent, or any other family member marching into my bedroom whether I was dressed, naked or whatever without knocking first.
It's bloody intrusive, really very, very rude and insulting.
ETA: I don't think either of my parents have seen me nekkid since I was a kid, but I wouldn't really mind if it was my choice.0 -

in my mum's house the airing cupboard is in the 2nd bedroom, maybe the mum in the OP wanted a fresh towel or something?0 -
I think it would be polite to knock but as for the nudity...well, some families are just more relaxed about this than others tbh. if they've walked around naked betwixt bedroom and bathroom etc for the last fifty years they're hardly going to start worrying about it at fifty-one now, are they?
And come to think of it I used to help my elderly mum have a bath twice a week when she was in her eighties, I never thought that was weird.
I think they sound like a laid back and affectionate family tbh, in the nicest possible way. People get far too upset about a bit of skin imho. But I would knock, yes.Val.0 -
No, she wanted to ask him something and knew he was getting up and dressed (afternoon snooze).
We were staying with his parents for weekend so it was their spare bedroom, so maybe she just didn't think. she didn't actually catch him naked but just marched straight in and I was a bit shocked that she could have. He didn't see anything odd with that.
My son used to see me naked, and vice versa, but it sort of dropped off naturally as he got older and stopped when he was about 10 or 11 and not a little boy anymore, so I'm not that prudish, just found lack of boundaries/privacy a bit strange![STRIKE][/STRIKE]I am a long term poster using an alter ego for debts and anything where I might mention relationship problems or ex.
