I wouldn't mind my mum seeing me naked, and she was there when I gave birth so saw it all then! But the opposite-sex parent, no way.

Neither parent have seen me naked since I was young. I'd be mortified if my dad walked in with my bazongas out and mildly embarrassed if it was my mum.

For me nudity is natural and positive. The not knocking is the big no no.


My feeling is that people brought up in homes where nudity is normal probably are a little more comfortable with themselves and more realistic about the bodies of others.

Like a previous poster said, it's not really 'weird' if that's what you've grown up with.

For me though, I wouldn't like just being walked in on. I think it's respectful to knock, even if you are family but that's just how I was brought up.

My ex boyfriends family would always walk about naked when it was just family in the house. Ex boyfriend didn't particularly like seeing his parents wandering about naked but for them, it was the 'norm'.

I used to go out with someone years ago who had an 'open' relationship with his Mum and although he thought it was no big deal, it felt weird to me and I saw him differently after I saw his Mum washing his hair in the bath one day.

He was a bit drunk and despite the fact he was a grown adult his Mum reckoned he couldn't do it properly himself so she did it for him. She did seem to baby him rather a lot imo but the bath thing was the straw for me.

I think that's more to do with what was going on in their heads than what they were wearing or not.

It doesn't matter if the mother got the wrong door etc, it's about him thinking it's okay for his mother to see his dangly bits, it's not, not in my book anyway and I would find that really strange if not a bit pervy.

It doesn't really matter what other people think, this is the way it is in his family, they are clearly all very happy with it, no reason they should change because some people would prefer not to live like that.

I find it quite shocking just how uptight people can be about their bodies and how they think that their parents seeing them naked could possibly have any sexual connotation, says far more about those people than the family in question. It's all just flesh, we all have it and our parents are not likely to be perverts or deviants just because they catch sight of it.
