Give them a call and explain that you'd like tv , so what can they renegotiate ?
Originally, they only offered O2 people packages with tv, so they do want you to try it.0 -

The £75 that everyone else is getting ?
Well they were told I may decide to have it on the phone but didn't want to comit. My main reason is reliability because I use the broadband for my business uploading work (media) and I have heard that their broadband goes down a lot. When you have been used to o2 being an excellent service everything else is downhill.0 -
I've had mine for 3weeks today and it hasn't gone down once. O2 used to dip quite low, now and then and also lose connection for a few minutes. Sky has done neither and it's about 1Mbps faster, too.0

You asked "Can you use the 18185 number with their phone line ?" and now you say that you need good upload speed.
You seem more concerned about missing Sky's bribe of Sky TV when you have stated several times that you don't want it.
If you switch to Sky you will be committing to 12 months, if you are eventually switched with no bribe, you would stay on a rolling contract with no 12 month tie in.
You didn't have to jump for their [STRIKE]offer[/STRIKE] bribe and you would now be enjoying 12 months free broadband if you had been on the ball when the Sky takeover was announced.I've had mine for 3weeks today and it hasn't gone down once. What is your upload speed? Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -
Ok - let me share my experience
Just spoke to sky a couple of times yesterday.
Already had sky tv, O2 BB & BT Line Rental
Now consolidated all 3 with sky.
TV - Entertainment extra plus w/ 10% discount @ £26.55 p.m
Broadband Unlimited @ £3.75 p.m
Sky Talk anytime @ £5.00 p.m
Sky Line Rental @ Free
Sky discount/credit @ -£75
Monthly total per statement = £35.30
x 12 for Annual = £423.60
less sky Credit/Discount of £75 = £348.60
Over 12 months = £29.05
Doesn't feel a bad price for all 3 services.
Though I am worried about the following:
***Broadband - had sky BB 2/3 yrs ago and always had speed issues. They say they have a charter with Ofcom and now endeavour to provide 9.4-16.0 mbps. They don't do traffic management. Is their broadband a big mistake?
***Phone Line Rental - I have the Orchid Dialler for Override numbers 18185 & Primus as CPS. As I have signed up to Anytime Talktime with SKY, have i made my Orchid dialler redundant?? I love that device!!
All numbers are now free, except International & mobiles - I was surprised with this but hope to make a saving as I spend £10/£12 (in total) monthly to BT, 18185 & Primus New Call on calls only.
Any thoughts on the issues above would be good!0 -
How do you make that out then ?
You are obviously too lazy to read this thread aren't you and you ignore any advice given!I don't notice upload, but just did a check and it's 5.97 down, 0.67 up
Thanks, I have spent most of the day uploading hundreds of high resolution photos and my upload is always at least 1Mb/s.
I have read reports that Sky seem to limit the upload speed, which is a bit worrying and could be a problem to some users. It also means that the product is not actually comparable like for like with O2/BE broadband. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -

I was only asking a question and didn't warrant a facetious reply. Ok, I will trawl through page after page after page and find it. thanks.0 -
I rarely upload (just the odd two or three photos), so a bias towards download suits me.0
