I think there is a lot of panic about nothing and that's not only because it's only a £20 voucher bought for £10 that we are talking about.

Mighty Deals have been told by Shell that vouchers would be sent by a certain date - we are not even at that date yet and there is panic. If it ends up being September, what's the big deal? Are people that hard up that this vouchers means so much?

Shell will send the vouchers when they normally send them and when they do, people can all calm down again :)

It's not (necessarily) about being 'that hard-up', it's about honesty. I'd not have bothered giving £10 in May if I thought the early August date wasn't going to be met.

How do you know that Shell will send when they normally do, whenever that is ?

Finally, this offer was promoted on MSE and it was mentioned that there had been problems with MD before, so I foolishly thought that meant that they'd definitely make sure this one was handled properly, but it hasn't been. MSE, please stop promoting MD in future !

If the offer had originally said that the vouchers would be available in September, would you not have signed up?

Maybe, maybe not. If it had said, we'll tell you August but it may be later / never, then no I wouldn't have and I doubt many other people would have done either.

Obviously you wouldn't join if they said "possibly never".

So them saying September would have been a deal breaker then?

I presume Shell will send the vouchers out when they normally do because that's what they always do any other quarter that you have enough points to receive a voucher.

I have never seen so many people get so excited about a £20 fuel/gift/waitrose voucher.

I'm afraid you're missing the point altogether. It's not really just the delay that's concerning some of us, maybe all of us - it's the concern that the whole thing could just be a scam by Mighty Deals.

Mighty Deals had a poor track record before this offer was launched to harvest new customers. MSE even gave the deal a health warning because of that poor track record.

Now they've even managed to let people down on this deal - yet again. What does that tell you about Mighty Deals? It tells me very clearly to avoid them like the plague and never to trust them again.

That's simply my view - if you still trust them to deliver on deals, that's fine. I don't.

I don't think this is a fair comment.

I think the problem arises as it seems everyone is being told different things and as each deadline passes then there seems to be another excuse being spouted out.

Personally, I'm don't mind when the voucher arrives, what I do mind is being led on a merry dance. I wouldn't have thought it too difficult to give a date at the beginning of the deal rather than all the semantics of "six weeks after this..." and "at the end of..." which is all a bit vague and misleading. Whether it is £10 or £10,000 were talking about is irrelevant.

I'm also not sure this is necessarily MD's fault and why Shell themselves are escaping the flak, after all MD can only give us information they've been given, I don't see any gain for them in misleading people just for the fun of it. I think it good it PR if a rep from Shell posted on this thread or put a notice on their website and cleared the matter up once and for all.
