Hi everyone.
Our Rotty is led on his back on the settee, with his legs splayed wide open, looking a complete idiot lol. Not a pretty sight!!
No sun this morning. Just grey cloud out there at the moment.
Have a Bible study to go to this morning. Before I go though I have to make some buttercream, and finish off the chocolate victoria sandwich I'm making for someone. Also, I need to make some choclate crispies for the children. We've run out of cake. I do have some in the freezer, but I don't want to use that yet. Chocolate crispies will be quick to make, they can set while we're out, and then the children can have one dinner time.
This afternoon, I really need to get some song sheets typed up. We have house group tonight, and DH and I are doing the music for another member. We haven't practiced yet !!??? Shall have to do some before we go. At least they're ones we know :-)
Last night, Child no. 4 who is 21 asked if he could move back in with us. He moved out in December. He wanted a bit of independence. Since his brother died, he's had, and still is having, a lot of personal and difficult issues in his life. Anyway. He''s now running a car, and finding that with having to pay rent, food etc. he is not exactly "flushed" with money. We're pleased to have him home, so we shall be a house hold of 9 again :-) I told him he can treat his dad and I, and cook us a meal every now and then, as he has got quite into cooking while being a "bachelor" lol.
Last night, I put some bread on in my older MR bread machine to cook over night. Then put one on in my nice new ebay bargain MR Fastbake (which I'm enjoying using) went to set the timer and accidently started it. By the time I found out how to stop it, the yeast had mixed in with the water, so I thought I'd better let it run, so I had to stay up till 12.15am. Made the house smell nice :-) My 18yrold son came home from watching Spiderman and instantly remarked on the nice smell lol. When the bread was done (a herby loaf) I forgot to let it rest in the pan for 15 mins. I don't have to do that with my other machine. Anyway, the bread looks ok this morning. Not sure why this make requires the 15 min in the pan rest ???
Everyone have a blessed and proserous day.
Hugs all round.0 -
Good morning everyone.
Happy Birthday to Charlie's MumHope you have a good one!
DD goes off to the south of France tomorrow (school watersports trip) and DS goes to a big Scout camp for the weekend, so DH and I are off the leash :j :T We're planning to take the tent away tomorrow for a couple of nights.
Out into the garden today. DD mowed the lawn last night.
Speak later, Penny. x:rudolf: Sheep, pigs, hens and bees on our Teesdale smallholding :rudolf:0 -
Morning all
charlies_mum - Many Happy Returns :bdaycake:
Nothing much from me this morning, altough I realised last night how much of my time college was taking up as I went home from work and had nothing really to do, so I set about mowing the lawn, tonight I think more garden stuff is in order.
I do have a couple of things I wanted to get sorted in the house but I just couldn't bear to be inside in this weather so that will have to wait. Apart from that not much else going on, not really cooking at the mo as my Mum decided I needed a break so dropped over a load of M&S cook stuff so it's a case of no prep just throw it in the oven. I must admit whilst it tastes OK I am sitting there eating and every mouthful I am thinking, I don't know what's in this and I could have made it better :T
Anyway, back to it as always take or leave the :grouphug: as needed. You laugh because I'm different - I laugh because you're all the same0 -
Good morning
Happy Birthday charlie's mum. Hope you have a lovely day whatever you decide to do.
kyle your gums sound so painful. I would be tempted to phone the dentist again for some guidance. Hope you feel better soon. ((hugs))

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHARLIE'S MUM :bdaycake: :bdaycake: - the big 50 is not so bad - I hit it four, nearly five, years ago and my DH reached his in March this year so welcome to the Sagalouts club! Have a great day!
N9EAV- Thanks for the recipe - will give that a go this weekend!
NEWSTER - how on earth do you cope with so many children? I take my hat off to you - two nearly drove me potty and they were ten years apart!
EMMY - Good luck at the dentist! Soon be over then you can enjoy the long weekend!
Well, I didn't intend to be back here so soon but have just made a coffee and I thought, if I just sit down, I can drink it while it's still hot and not forget about it like I usually do and end up throwing it away. I'm not very MSE when it comes to hot drinks - I like them really hot, as soon as the kettle boils (which I know is not exactly a good idea) and, once they've gone cold I'm not interested any more!
Anyway, second lot of washing in the machine and BM on; DH dispatched with his flask, sandwiches and a piece of all three cakes I made yesterday; house more or less tidy - just have to dust the crumbs off the desk and keyboard and perhaps run the hoover over; file the recipes I printed off this morning - thanks, everyone! - and get ready to collect DGD from pre-school at 11.30. Probably go for a walk with her because the weather is so good then back for our regular Thursday Marmite and cheese sandwiches and draw some princesses until her mummy collects her after lunch.
Will call back later but hope you all have some of this lovely sunshine wherever you are and that you all have a great day!

Morning All
Happy Birthday Charliesmum
(((hugs))) where needed.
Looks like another lovely day here in Essex, need to make the most of it as the forcast for the weekend is awful. Mind you have a busy day today - 2 mystery shops this morning then local pub for lunch for a friends birthday. After that eyebrow waxing in another village. Then need to rush home as a man is coming round to give us a quote for window blinds.
Had a problem with the kitchen yesterday - tiled under the fridge and now the fridge doesnt fit - builder coming round sat to sort before the painter turns out. Cant wait till next tues as by then everything should be done and no more people in my house. Cant wait to go back to pottering in my kitchen when I want.
Just about to go and wipe down the kitchen worktops and persuade DS to come in and clean his teeth so we can walk to school early and give the puppy a good run.
Have a great day all.0
