Write to them saying you are only prepared to communicate with them in writing - you then have a paper trail.

It's probs because you owe them so much money however in the past they just upped and upped credit limits because they are greedy so-and-so's

You don't even have to tell the police who you are if you don't want to so you certainly don't have to form a contract with this person by confirming your name.

You told him that you weren't the person he was looking for, so he's now gone to the address registered on your account and found someone who's told him they're not you. He could therefore think someone has used a false address to set up the account.

I doubt you'd be arrested but the police could get involved if there's a suspected fraud. If they did come round you'd just tell them what you told us; you felt intimidated, panicked and denied being you to get him off your doorstep.

Do you mind me asking if you are currently paying anything back to them? Or are you in an arrangement?

I also owe a huge amount to this company and have entered into a dmp with Step change, so far they seem to have accepted the monthly payments which are around half the minimum amounts requested but I would be mortified if they arrived at my door!

No, you cannot be arrested over debt, still no need to panic at all.
  • Hi, no I cannot get them to accept any offers
  • And he hasn't said when if or how he will be coming back
  • The guy said unless I told them where this person was

How the hell am I supposed to know, where the previous tenant is

I 100% know it that shop direct do home visits for fraud, £10k is a lot of money for them to loose and to be honest if you say you were not that person whats it look like....
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.
