Your not alone
A lot of people here, including myself, have been in the same situation of not wanting to answer the door for fear of it being a door-stepper.

The police won't, and can't, get them the Landlord's details.
Even if they would/could, how would knowing the Landlord's details help them :huh:0 -

Not without breaching the DPA they can't.0 -
Have you been claiming items going missing, or not ordered. They are normaly investigating fraud, eg very , k&co, littlewoods.Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0

no, I am just in serious debt to them over all my accounts eg £10k0

just tell them you're not paying anything: doorsteps collectors have no more power than next doors cat.0

Call the police, ha that made me chuckle. These debt collectors will try anything to scare people. An opinion is just that..... An opinion0

If they suspect fraud they can call the police in, easy to obtain landlords details via landregistryDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0

My thoughts exactly.
The OP denying that they're the person he was looking for could make him think someone has fraudulently used the OP's address to make an account. The police could obviously get involved there.
Should just be honest and say yes you are that person but you're not making arrangements with him. What will your verse be?
