Just had my Sky TV installed - coming from o2 home phone and broadband got free tv and bb for a year. I live in hope that changing over to their bb service next week will be equally as simple - for now I'll try to move with the times and try to work out how to use the TV! All good so far...:)0

I just phoned BT to get my line stopped as I am moving house .
BT told me we could have offered you something (well they had their chance )
They said my sky deal had a two year contract (not true )
Their BB was better than skys because sky use BT equipment LOL.
The phrase lies on top of lies came to mind"Do not regret growing older, it's a privilege denied to many"0 -
I found BT's bb customer service to be poor and that's why I left them, I found their phone service ok though.
Well I've just had my email from sky offering me free BB for a year if I took their line rental. They're going to have to try harder than that as I've prepaid my phone line upfront to BT and I've got free BB from O2 until the end of March.0 -

I see.... If you want their line rental, they sometimes offer to buy your remaining line rental time from your current provider. Ask them....:rotfl:Save money, get the things you want! Blow it all, regret it!0 -
I have a BT line currently 02 contract ends August.
Not interested in Sky TV. I want my free 0845 and 0870 i get with BT.
My main requirement. HUGE download limits.
I have/had 300GB a month with O2 and often went over 100GB. £9.50 with a £10 topup every few months.
What are my options?Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -

Well.... The Sky Broadband package I ordered (Sky Unlimited Talk and Unlimited Broadband) has unlimited download and unlimited usage limits. I also need huge download limits, I am moving from O2 Premium Package. As you have a download limit seems as if its one of their new packages that started around 2 years ago. Regarding the line rental, they only offer 0870 not 0845. I just go to say no to 0870! If I need an alternative.
Hope this helps.:rotfl:Save money, get the things you want! Blow it all, regret it!0 -
I think I really want to stay with BT for my phone, as forgotmyname has said 0845 and 0870 calls are included, I know I can go to 'say no to 0870' but not all numbers are listed, I also get caller display for free and there's this new app which you put on your smartphone which means if you go through it all calls are charged to your home landline, as I have the Anytime package my daughter who is working in the USA for the summer is able to call me on a wifi signal via the app for nothing so this is going to save a bomb in her call costs.0

Just curious (ok then I'm nosey!) - how did the switch over go today?
Mine's due to go live on Monday - anything I should know that will help someone who's not very technical? :think:0 -

Glad you asked! Switch over went ahead really smoothly. Suddenly my O2 Broadband stopped working and had a red light on the router and the dial tone was sort of funny, sort of like a melody but not the usual dial tone. So I connected up the new router and tadaaa! Started to work. Had to set up this parental control that popped up when I opened the browser (I set it to off). Dial tone was still funny sounding. But after an hour became normal. Download speed at about 2.92mbps with upload at 0.50. I should be getting 19mbps and 1.10mbps. But they say 10 days I shall wait for it to increase.
LOL very detailed, but overall experience great!
