Do I now write to inform them that I am going to take them to court or Just do it?
Do you reccomend MCOL or should I use N1? ?????
Shooter
You should send the second template in Martin's article giving the bank 14 days notice that you are taking them to court.

Thanks Edinburghlass
Thats what I'll do.
Should I add something about not accepting their offer ( they have added them to the cc accounts even though they are closed and I have no way of getting the money,They both ahve nil balances as I paid off the balances from money left to me by a relative before starting all this) or should I accept their offers as part payment on the understanding that I receive it by cheque within the 14 days.
Your advice would be extremely gratefully accepted:beer::rotfl: Surely life can't get any worse it has to only get better from hear on out :jJanuary NSD aim 15days0 -
You need to send them a letter iinforming them that you WITHOUT PREJUDICE accept their payment as a part payment to the total claimed.
If you ring them and give them your bank details they will transfer it to your bank account.0 -
Quick question, when I claim my charges from the c/c companies is there a chance they may stop my credit with them and demand the current amount I owe them by return?0

I have just received a letter from Monument showing £76 of charges & my statements show £165!!!!!
Luckily I have all my statements so now I guess I have to photocopy them & send them back. Do you think I should add £10 for my trouble??0 -
Hi there... I'm a newbie on the site, so I hope I'm posting in the right way / place!
I am just about to send letters to 5 credit cards companies that I incurred charges with about 18 months ago (when I had my own business, and a client's bankruptcy caused huge financial problems for me).
A few months ago I successfully reclaimed bank charges from the same time, and now I want to do the same with the credit cards - some of which charged extortionate fees for many months before they would allow me to make a fixed repayment arrangement with them.
I have addresses for three of the cards (from threads on this site) - but I cannot find an address for either Vanquis or Universa.
The address on an old Vanquis statement is:
Vanquis Card Customer Services
<?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" /><st1:address><st1:Street>P.O. Box 399</st1:Street>
<st1:City>Chatham</st1:City>
<st1:PostalCode>ME4 4WQ</st1:PostalCode></st1:address>
Or: Vanquis
Southend-On-Sea
SS99 9AH
The address I have on an old Universa statement is:
Style Financial Services Ltd
Credit Card Operations
<st1:address><st1:Street>P.O. Box 6050</st1:Street>
<st1:City>Southend-On-Sea</st1:City>
<st1:PostalCode>SS99 1WL</st1:PostalCode></st1:address>
I wondered if anyone is able to help with confirming either of these addresses.
Also, the template letters don't make direct reference to reclaiming late payment or over-limit fees. Should I amend the wording in the letters to include these phrases, or should I use purely the templates given in the unclaiming bank charges thread?
Apologies for such a long email! But really hope someone may be able to help me.
Many thanks.

Hi Claire
I too had a claim against Vanquis. They are a pushover. I did not need to send any money or even one letter. Just go to their website and send them your letter via email. I sent the same template but just amended the wording to credit card charges. They will then just send you a standard letter making an offer. Do not accept this as you wont at this stage have a list of charges. Just call them and thank them for their offer, however you are not prepared to accept until you receive a list of the charges. Then you will goet a list of charges. I then received automatically received an offer for almost the full amount. Easy!0 -
Just wondering if anyone had an opinion on which credit card companies are the easiest to reclaim from??
I have some charges to claim back from Barclaycard, Halifax Visa and Abbey Mortgage (not sure if u can do mortgages though) and I'm at the stage were I'd have to start proceedings through MCOL. They're all for less than £500.
Any ideas who I might get the least resistance from? I'm going abroad for several months early next year so could do without things dragging on too long.
Thanks0 -
Could you tackle them all at once? Makes for a shorter process all in all which would tie in with you moving abroad?0
