Can I claim from credit card

I wish you luck, but (from my 28 years' experience of dealing with customer complaints at PO Telephones/British Telecom/BT) I cannot see the banks/credit card providers dealing with such complaints, with such far-reaching potential legal ramifications for them, over the 'phone. Keep us posted, though!
At BT, we even made customers "jump through hoops", as we termed it, as a matter of policy, even when we knew that their complaint was justified and that we would pay up if they did. It was one of the many reasons that I took my voluntary redundancy 4 years ago.The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life.0 -
first off all i would like to share my story
i had a credit card for about £6000 pounds and i was at my limit,,,i managed to get some money and pay it off so it was completely clear!
but then came Xmas ha ha!
so with it being clear i decided at xmas to go a bit mad and spend about £2200 on it,, after this janurary came and i was struggling for cash and i missed the payment for that month and got penalized in janurary for a late payment charge and with the interest it took my card upto about £2350 or something like that ,low and behold i get a letter stating they are dropping my credit limit to £2350 so they wouldnt let me spend on it even after 1 missed payment
so now i am for ever paying this overlimit charge because the monthly interest is killing me
what should i do!0 -
Yes - I have just claimed 100% of late payment fees from Egg. Good luck.0

Just follow exactly the same process as per martin's article. You can claim both overlimit charges and late payment charges.
Treat the bank charges and credit card charges as separate claims, with different letters etc.0 -
Yes. I am just starting a claim for a few late payment charges. However, in view of the OFT ruling and reduction to £12 (still £9 to £10 too high), the credit card companies seem to be hiding behind this and trying to get customers - on first refusal - to escalate their claims to the banking ombudsman. The reason for this is obvious: he can only rule on whether or not they abided by the rules, not the legality of the amounts charged. We still have the same ultimate sanction - neither the banks or credit card companies want to go to court and then have to answer a question under oath about how much it actually costs them to administer a late payment. The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life.0

Hi
Can anyone advise if the same templates that are used for bank account reclaiming can be used for credit card charge reclaiming as well. Seems that way but just want 100% confirmation

Yes you can use the same templates and amend it to refelct the difference in the name of charges. Late Payment and Overlimit fees can be reclaimed ffrom credit cards as well as a nasty one Barclaycard imposes called an Out Of Order charge at a whopping £40.
The credit cards and store cards thread is here which may provide some useful information and support:

I have successfully reclaimed £730 from Barclays (asked for £980) and have put in a claim for my statements from Abbey but have heard nothing so will have to kick them up the bum I think.
My reason for posting is this, I have 2 credit cards that previously took me to the cleaners over unpaid charges, that were then paid. I have no record of their number to claim is there anyway that I can make them pay up still?0 -
Can anyone please confirm what I can claim back for on CC, I cannot find any links or information on here?
Thanks0
