DD2 has a post viral rash. She is still bouncing around like a spring lamb so she can accompany me and DS2 to the dentist in a while.

I've had a good sort out in DS3/DD2's bedroom. I have found all the missing socks and the washing machine has been on constantly since 8.30am.

DS1 has been told the facts of life today. I've informed him that now he is 18 and out of education he has no parental credit left. We have no financial responsibility to feed or house him out of the goodness of our hearts when he refuses to do anything to get himself a job. He is lying in his bed playing on his laptop and it's really getting to me. I've told him he has a month to sort himself out then he will be evicted. Unbelievably DH has backed me up.

Parenting is so hard at times.

It is hard but sometimes you have to be cruel to be kind and if he ends up being evicted and falls on his face he might learn from that.. and you can help him back on his feet without rolling over and giving in.

Good news that you have back up too! :D

DS won't think you will stick to it so make sure you do!

Pigpen - hope you feel better soon, but I have no idea how you can do so much when feeling so rough, very impressed!

Because if I don't do it no one will

Because it drives me insane just sitting doing nothing plus it isn't good to do that.

And... I get to moan and whinge and complain all the while :D

    ... and very slowly!

DH has eaten two frogs this morning despite not feeling very energetic :A He is off to the horse piddle tomorrow for his electric shock treatment.

I have dealt with the removals man and received his estimate already! I have also done 2 WM loads of bedding and hung them out in the hope that the band of rain that is pushing up from the south-west will hold back long enough for the wind to do most of the drying, rather than the TD.

I've also freecycled yet another item and received payment for an eB@y sale which will be collected on Friday. And I've got bids on 2 more items :) with watchers on 3 more out of the current total of 9 listings :D

Must phone the Planning Department of our soon-to-be-local council and see if they would even consider letting me do something that would give me a much better kitchen. It involves raising the roof - but only a flat one ;)

    * describe to me your corned beef hash please..

    * Which would be the 'healthiest' option... meaning most nutritious not necessarily lowest calories.. a bowl of rice krispies with semi milk OR 2 slices of toast and jam????

Diced onion, carrots and potatoes, 1 tin of corned beef, S&P and water to cover. Bung on the hob. Stop cooking once the veg have softened (some corned beef may still be in lumps, others dissolved). Slice of bread onto plate. Pile hash on top. Certain people in our house put brown/red sauce on top.

Probably the cereal for extra vits and mins, however, any breakfast is important in my mind.
found that song my DS sang in the lounge this is the recording that shamed me into keeping the table clutter under control LOL

its got a lot less on now!!!!

What a lovely voice he has and in your defence, Mrs MP, it did sound like the hoover/WM was on in the background :D

Been at the paid stuff this morning and off to Job 2 at 4.30. WM on, line dried and just about to be put away. Problems with OH's van insurance so that's one frog phonecall to make, but not keen to do much more otherwise tonight's shift will be mammoth.

JellyBean - if 30 mins sounds overwhelming at this moment in time, what about the "kettle" method I created for myself last week. Whilst standing in the kitchen, what can you do in the time it takes the kettle to boil? My suggestions would be - wipe a fridge shelf; empty and wash the bin out; clear the crumbs out of the cutlery tray/toaster, wipe a shelf, throw out any chipped crockery.

You can adopt this to any other room too. Put the radio on and see what you can achieve in the time it takes to play a song on the radio. Pick up the shoes/dirty washing. Tidy some books/magazines. File 6 pieces of paperwork.

When time is tight for me (I have 5 jobs ) I sometimes cannot give a half hour of myself, but at least this other method means something gets done and makes me feel better about myself.

Hope this helps get you started.

Off to put that washing away now, it won't do itself.

Washing all put away. Upstairs hoovered through and school run done.

    Hello!

Just got back from work and expecting MIL with the tots any minute. Boss dragged me off to a meeting room earlier and I'm still not sure why. He was asking if I was ok and said I was quiet today (my response was "you've been away from your desk all morning"). Then went on to tell me he'd had a second interview for another job, and more detail about that. I'm thinking he just wanted a chat really. Either that or I've been a mardy-@rse today :p

I won't be applying for his job, assuming he's successful, as I want to stay part time.

Anyway. I haven't done any flying except put the black bin out for morning. I did stop at @ldi on the way home for some milk and kiddie snacks, and lunch bits for moi. Probably wont get much done either with kiddies and two grannies, my mum is stopping in aft work (maybe I am a mardy-@rse and she wants to know what's up too?).
