Thanks Pink Fairy, Lamewolf and Dusty. The problem is about whether I can afford her, that's all, really, and I'm lazy and enjoying not having to walk a doggo four or five times a day - we don't have a garden. But, then again, thinking dog things this afternoon, knowing that I only go onto dog websites in order to reassure myself the perfect dog isn't available (she obviously now is, and called Megan, apparently) I was remembering another one.

Thirty plus years ago on the farm we had a non-working collie (too stupid) who used to get shut in barns on a regular basis. She'd bark fairly continuously to be let out, but the minute she could hear us calling her so that we could identify where she was locked in, she'd stop. It often took half an hour to find her - there were a lot of buildings and she'd follow anyone into any of them just to see what was going on. (I told you she was thick.) Anyway, if a dog can still make me laugh out loud 30 years later, I guess I need one. I'll just have to live on baked beans and sardines when the vet bills start rolling in again.
    Better is good enough.

    Very basic Dusty..only 8oz marg...6oz sugar...2 eggs...12oz SR flour about 6oz sultanas.enough milk to make to a dropping consistency.

for choc chip ones I replace 2oz of flour with cocoa and add either a bag of choc chips or finely dice any chocolate and add to mix.

chuck it in bun cases and bake for 15 mins.....

6 dozen buns in less than 25 mins xx

Home again, Home again, Happy Lil' pig!!!

Girlies fed.. just online to order takeaway because I ain't cooking!

Pj's out for the pinks .. washing in the kitchen, I'm putting that on next.

Valli.. it was OH's mother saying about my children not being important.. maybe to her they aren't but to me and Squeak they are! I'd rather she didn't come than they didn't. I got really upset at their christening because only my oldest 2 and DS3 were there and they should ALL have been there.. I doubt I'll be any happier about this one being baptised tbh

This week OH is doing LOTS of shifting stuff about because I can't and I am sick of the squalor.... is it right nesting should start this early????

If it's an older dog, the rescue may assist with vets bills, but we have been very lucky with all our pets. Our vet also does a Vaccination for Life scheme so we only need worming & flea treatment as the vaccine is a one off payment then we never pay for the annual boosters. We also get the dog food from our local farm shop - Dr John's Silver for working dogs - £10.49 for 15kg. The only other thing they need is lots of love and cuddles with a few doggie treats thrown in. I'm sure that, whatever you decide, it will be the right choice for you. x
