Jellybox – Welcome, just take babysteps, a lot of us have been flying for a while so it does get easier each week, try to join in any HHC’s that you can, it will amaze you what you can get done running about mad for 30 minutes!

The 30 minutes thing is one I can't yet get my head around, I am one of those people who hears 30 minutes, but sees much more work and so instead of chipping away, does nothing. I am hoping to change this!

Welcome JellyBox. A tiny bit every day makes a big difference eventually. My first job is always putting things in the right rooms in the house, which can take up to 30 minutes.

This is something I'd love to do, currently can't quite manage it, my shifts just don't allow it, but OH will be getting this job as soon as everything actually has a place to go to!

Today I am just pleased with the job list, I was hoping for living room today, will stick the list on later once I've done some :P but today I have emptied the WM, plus put away dry clothes. The latter of these isn't normally done at all, let alone by 9 on a day off, normally still in bed!

welcome jellybox, if you dont like the idea of setting a time how about giving yourself a list of jobs, you will feel huge satisfaction when you start crossing things off. it helps you realise that you are achieving things even if in the early days you look round and think what have i actually achieved. just look at your list and you will be able to say "quite a lot actually"

hope ceiling man turns up so you can get some normality back in your kitchen pigpen. nothing worse than waiting for someone whos being paid to do a job and them not doing theirs stops you from getting on.

They seem to be the same countrywide - I struggled to get a WM repair man - thankfully the 2nd one turned up when he said he would. I've never heard from the 1st one I contacted.

I'm finding it exceptionally difficult to get someone round to just quote for replacing the guttering and fascias.

I rang 7 people to get quotes for gutter replacement.. in the end 2 turned up and the second one who did the work took nearly 3 weeks to finish the job.. drove me half mad!

All spuds cooked and mashed. Got a bag of 'em for 9p. Should have bought two, really, as they keep longer than the date! One cottage pie ready for tea tomorrow; one will go in the freezer - one needs some more mash on it though.

Valli put your whoopsied potato bargains inside a black bin liner with a label on it (just in case "helpers" think its rubbish and bin it for you!" They will keep well for ages, I am still whittling down my umpteen 36p potato bags from Mr T from about 6 weeks ago.

Right, next on the agenda, thanks to Natty and Dusty for listies - Kitchen is looking like a war zone due to neglect of dailies in favour of DIY.

I have rung Carpet people and asked to reschedule til Monday from this Thursday, I have had to refill all wallplug holes a second time as when they were sanded flat there were still indents and inperfections.

So still nowhere near doing paintwork in the Study :(

Right time for Simon Le Bon to keep me company , anyone else want HHC with me?
The cold never bothered me anyway
