Ugh... does that mean I have to feed this lot too??? *cry* I haven't even looked what we have in.. it may well turn out to be freezer surprise! I have corned beef hash for me and OH and Dot.. she had 3 helping when we had it the other day!

    2 foody questions...

    * describe to me your corned beef hash please.. I know it varies by location but OH's mum did some last time we went and it was like baby slop!! Only OH ate it! I had rice krispies and the girls had fruit and ice cream and yoghurt. (she did mash with corned beef mushed into it and baked beans!!! ... YUK!!!!!.. Mine is gravy with carrots and onions and chunks of potato and corned dog.. served with fresh bread)
mine is done in the frying pan and does go a bit like pink mashed potato it tastes good though ;) never EVER do baked beans go on the same plate as potatoes. Baked beans are for toast or I will allow you chips otherwise I may hurl!

    * Which would be the 'healthiest' option... meaning most nutritious not necessarily lowest calories.. a bowl of rice krispies with semi milk OR 2 slices of toast and jam????
I'd say the cereal on the grounds that it will have added vitamins and the calcium in the milk but as you know food isn't my strong point :D

id go with cereal as the 'healthy' option as well, but they probs have as much sugar as the jam but a few extra added vits and the milk would be calciyummy.

cant help with the hash as im veggie

just starting a pan of leek and potato soup
raining here again - scout agm followed by BBQ is not going to be the same in the rain (im taking my own veggie sausages)

Just watched DD practice her dancing and then stuck a washing in. I'm on a quick tidy up mode then I will direct OH to the supermarket for packed lunch things. I forgot DD is second sitting this week which means no food left in the dinner hall and she normally gets a sandwich and a drink and gets charged full price for it even though it should contain a yogurt and a bit of home baking  I have complained numerous times but the school has a hearing problem
Suppose I could get DD to help make some cakes for a treat but can I be bothered this is the question? ;)
Right I've been a lazy moo long enough I better get cracking

FFP.. same here.. baked beans go with toast or chips and absolutely nothing else!!!

OH just moaned at me for having rice Krispies for lunch and said the toast alternative was better.. toast with no added vits or calcium or anything.

Fridge emptying tonight.. spag bol with extra 'shrooms and the remainder of the corned dog which Dot loves!... she just screamed for seconds!

Looking at the list it doesn't seem I did very much, but most of the floor is now sparkley, the door to the sundeck has been washed inside and out, the oven has been cleaned, all the work surfaces and table have been cleared and cleaned, cupboards have been turned out, a big shelf elsewhere has been cleared and cleaned, three different soups have been made for the freezer together with a batch of hummus and the DW has done its thing. OH's washing that he did yesterday has finally dried and been bought in so he can do his ironing for the trip to Amsterdam, and the superking bed has been changed.

I think I'll go and stock check the freezer and bag up some of the boxed stuff so that I can put today's soups in boxes for chilling overnight. That'll do for today - I was only going to do a HHC with TMD at 11.15!
    Better is good enough.

My two don't care for corned beef, and I can take or leave it, so I don't tend to bother. But when my mum makes it, it's more the spuds and veg in gravy, with just cubes of cb added to warm through at the end.

Some places have it much drier, almost like saut!ed spuds then corned beef added and fried into sort of like a "cake" type thing.

Sat in conservatory, beasties playing, and I can see sun shining on the kitchen window. What on earth did I use to clean it? I'd better do it again... But will get them to bed and have dinner first - I've made a freezer surprise bolognese too!

Last of washing done and drying, but more is about to be created as littlies get ready for bed...

I make hash like mummyoffive and you, Pigpen, but I use minced beef. Precook the minced beef (or whatever meat) allow to cool then you can skim off the fat. Add spuds - there you go. I sometimes add dumplings (but I'm filling a hollow-legged teen).

    LOL

Just did livechat on quidco and I ended up answering questions for the operator! (DD bought a kindle and it hasn't yet tracked. I want a kindle like hers! Kindle Fire HD)
